I’m continuing cherryfudge, today I need to do 6,000 more steps but the weather looks dreary.Yesterday I managed to get to the tip well second attempt as they were queuing the first time. Offload several half full tins of paint, 2 throws that were on the settees but have seen better days and 1 bedside cabinet that was surplus to requirements.Made an appointment for wicked to come and give us a quote for a new kitchen, next week. At the weekend we are going to look at what we like and let them know.I won a free go on the lottery ( from Christmas but just got round to sorting) and £5.00 which I put in the funpot , which stands at £35.Not a lot else happening

Broken watch on the bay sold and another sale on the V. Will add money to funpot once the money has been transferred. Currently nothing listed. Will send Mr 🐞 up into the loft at the weekend to bring some more stuff down. In fact I will probably go up there as well, so I know how much needs doing up there. Will also start to list the summer clothes that I’ve got squirrelled away as I suspect that people will be starting to think about holidays now. Decluttering is going very slowly mainly due to lack of motivation at the moment. Most rooms have had a first sweep done except the kitchen. Going to leave this until the new kitchen is in.The 10,000+ steps challenge continues and so does the weight gain😤.On a brighter note its mums birthday today and we are meeting the youngest at their volunteer placement before going for lunch. Must remember to collect the book I ordered from the library. I was going to buy a trilogy off W which would have cost me £23, which was cheaper than brand new. Anyway checked at the library and they had 2 of the 3. No brainer really.Love 🐞Declutter 984/2026

A bit low today, heard yesterday that a friend of Mr 🐞 is in ICU. Apparently had a bleed on the brain at the weekend . Subsequently found that they have a brain aneurysm, so had a coil fitted. 🤞 they make a full recovery. Totally knocked us both for 6 as this is what their twin had issues with and unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago.On a more positive note the youngest has gone to their volunteer placement again today even though the college is striking, as the manager at shop has said they are happy for them to go in. The youngest is so pleased to be doing something that they consider worthwhile. A big boost to their self esteem and confidence. Anything I can’t sell I will send there. Sent bedding and a jumper today. Must put that in my declutter numbers. I’ve also had the financial assessment back from the council to say the youngest doesn’t have to contribute to respite care🥳. Contacted sw today and left a message for them to contact me to get the ball rolling.Heard nothing about a start date yet for 🍭.Right best get sorted as friend is coming soon for a catchup.Love 🐞Declutter 984/2026

That's so concerning about Mr L's friend. I hope it's fixed successfully.
Great news on youngest's placement and not having to contribute to respite. I saw a young person working in a charity shop yesterday and clearly the most positive and helpful member of staff you could wish to meet. Their joy in working was shining all over the place and gave such a nice atmosphere.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

What a lovely post cherryfudge 💜.
I’m absolutely shattered. Been very busy, miss giddychops walked, then Mr🐞and I went for a walk, yoga and used Mr🐞rowing machine whilst I listened to a podcast. We then went to the plot to put weed membrane down. Started taking out the summer psb as it’s finally finished and hopefully will get the netting down in the week. Started cropping the winter psb (£4), which was turned into broccoli and Stilton soup. Collected olio request on the way home. A total of 18,000 steps done. Time for bed I think.

Decided to tackle the kitchen as it’s become very grubby and cluttered. We need to get a new oven and hood as they work only intermittently. I have a small investment maturing in a couple of months that should just cover the costs of the above. Only managed one side but scrubbed with in an inch of its life. Took everything out, checked dates etc. At least 40 bits of food in the bin ( recycled all packaging), 2 large bowls which were chipped ( one was my auntie’s that has passed away. I’ve been reluctant to let it go), garlic bread wooden plate ( onto the to be burned pile), 8 metal items, salad servers ( to be sold) jam thermometer ( to be sold) 3 tea towels, large pan and hand mixer. Phew 63 items. Will attempt to clean the other side during the week. Mr🐞 and I have decided to hang fire on a new kitchen after hearing about our friend. Their situation has made us reassess what we want to spend our money on. What priorities are important to us and a new kitchen isn’t high on the list. Time together is. So decluttering, degreasing and fixing what we can is happening. Mr🐞jet washed the path up the garden as it’s become very greasy under foot. He also got my new to us £3.50 lined curtains up in the room of tranquility.Tea used homegrown potatoes and broccoli (added cost to produce tracker £3.50).

3 items listed on V. Plans with friends cancelled as the youngest is ill again and they are both immune compromised . Plenty to do here so I’ll not be bored. Think I’ll go for a walk first.

Another item listed on V and 1 item sold and posted. Finished scrubbing the kitchen cupboards and sides. Decluttered all the cupboards, found several pan lids and no pans. Binned. All surplus metal, used batteries and hand blender going to the tip tomorrow, is in my car. Tomorrow I have the cooker hood🤢, not been cleaned for years and is disgusting. Not a job I’m looking forward to. Washing machine and dishwasher have had a descaler cleaner put through. I have to say the kitchen is looking miles better. Mr🐞 will tackle the doors and sink at the weekend.Shopping done £65.78, olio requests collected, steps and yoga done. Tea was leftovers. An early night I think as I didn’t sleep well last night😴.Love 🐞Declutter 984/2026

Just catching up, on the muscle re fat discussion it reminded me to do something as I'm losing weight but getting bigger and so I will actually measure myself. I remember hearing once that this can be a better guide than just stepping on the scales. When I feel able to face the tape measure I will note sizes in diary and then compare later in the year when I actually do something about the junk I eat but should not.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!4 -
Thanks for the reminder watty1, this is something I’m going to do tomorrow morning.Busy day today. Had my b12 injection, hope I never have the same nurse again. I could have sworn, but waited till I got outside. Never had an injection be so painful or done so slowly. Gave me a migraine that required a bag of toffee popcorn for medicinal reasons. Went on duntree to take back a curtain track as Mr🐞 had one in his Justin pile🤣. So £9 back into our account. Ended up back at the sm as need oven cleaning stuff as I ran out yesterday and wanted to tackle the 🤢 cooker hood🤢. Quick trip to the tip so stuff is not hanging around in my car.Spoke to 🍭 manager and meeting them at the school next week to discuss duties etc. Walked miss giddychops to local parcel drop off as I had 8 books to send to wobble earning me hopefully £5.75. Picked up my new to me trousers from V for £3.Quick trip to plot to pick cabbage, Brussels and psb - stir fry for tea.Dread dentist appointment least said about that the better, but no money spent. Although they did try very hard to get me to agree to have a nicer, straighter, whiter smile. To cheer myself up I started on the manky cooker hood 🤢. It’s been a job I have put off I’m ashamed to say for quite some time as I thought it would either refuse to be cleaned or take hours. It took an hour but it’s looks amazing. I wish I’d done it sooner. 🤨. I do need to look at buying a new filter though.Hoist is supposed to being fitted tomorrow 🤞.Love 🐞Declutter 984/2026
