Stay safe in that white stuff, and, hope the slippers arrive soon.  The hoist toing and froing must be so frustrating.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

So many wonderful positives in your post, and especially that the new job and youngest's work are looking so good.

I think it's worth at least investigating complaining about the hoist company, they've had a significant impact on your family and left you to pick up the bill.

Collected 11 bags of cobs from olio volunteer. Should keep Mr🐞 fed in lunches for a week or 2 (maybe🤣). Put the majority in the freezer. Finished another book and then sat and calculated how much I saved by harvesting psb and sprouts the other day for tea- £3.30. Adjusted my figures. Think I might add savings from using olio as well. Tea tonight will comprise of olio carrots/sweet potatoes,  Christmas veggies (15p) swede and parsnips and homegrown potatoes, psb and sprouts. Plus homemade yorkies, veggie sausages and gravy- full price.
Mr🐞 and I are looking where we would like to go on holiday. Best go as the maps are out.

I had hoped that all the walking, yoga, 2 short stints at rowing, eating less and cheese reduction 😭 would have resulted in some weight loss. 🤣 nope not even half a pound, in fact I’ve put a pound and a half on. Flummoxed 😲 . It’s usually at this point I throw my arms up and declare why bother, but I will persist another week.
I was sure I'd put on weight over Christmas as I just seemed to be (sorry to say this) flab - but the scales say I'm down half a pound. I've given it some thought and come to the conclusion that junk food and lack of exercise means I've lost muscle and gained fat, but muscle is heavier than fat so while I look bigger, I weigh less. It's the only way I can explain it.

I'm think that perhaps you have gained muscle but lost fat? In which case you may weigh more but you will be healthier and look trimmer. So it's more than worth continuing. :)
