Can we take out the remaining money?

Good question. Not clear from the terms, which just say they will match, up to £200, your initial deposit. But I'm leaving mine there. I think they do pay interest on uninvested money. 3.75% (so not too shabby) I think - check on their site.

I think to be on the very safe side I'm going to buy £202 worth of Lloyds stocks.

Very confusing instructions from MSE that don’t seem to match IG’s sign-up journey or wording.
I’m also a bit puzzled about the investment requirement. My understanding is that you can deposit £200 to qualify for the full £200 reward, and if you have a low risk appetite, you can invest just £1 and leave the remaining balance on deposit earning interest (3.75% AER variable).
What’s unclear is whether the initial £1 investment alone is sufficient, based on MSE’s second sentence:
“Deposit £200 and then invest just £1 and you’ll still get £200 cashback. Just make sure to either keep or make at least one investment per month till 1 July.”
Does this mean the original £1 investment simply needs to remain invested, or that you must make a new investment each month?
My interpretation is that you need to invest once (e.g. £1) before the 27 Feb deadline which satisfies the “first invest” condition.
After that, you don’t have to invest more every month as long as you keep that position open each monthSo keeping your original £1 investment in place until 30 June would likely meet the condition.

I clicked the MSE link and it says offer closed. Maybe a blessing in disguise.

has not ended, which is what recent posts are about.Correction: perhaps it has, if I open the link in a new browser it says closed, my usual browser says it's still live. Maybe they messed up their terms and want to correct them.
The terms, as originally published, are archived on the web archive for the record here:
Edited, a second time, to add that the page now says:
Due to unprecedented demand, this offer ended on 11 February at 2:30pm. Any new client who signs up after this time won't be eligible for the February 2026 MSE Deposit Match Promotion.
So it seems it's simply over.

I must say last night I was regretting bothering but now the headache has subsided I'm glad I got in there quick as you never know when these things will get pulled.

OK now I'm going to invest an extra couple of quid each month up to July! Not sure if I need to but it's easy enough.

That’s so frustrating as I only hesitated because it was unclear. Kicking myself that I didn’t at least set up the account last night. Doh.

Usually I would be the same but on this one I'm not too bothered. Hopefully everybody gets their cashback.
