Oh Redo that was a big and I'm sure tough decision about Doglet - well done for taking the right steps and I'm sure it comes as a relief to you that she is clearly happy with the call you made.
I'm ignoring every word about thinning down books though. Nope, nothing to see here, moving on...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Glad doglet is settled and thriving.
Amazing work clearing, and £80 for books is brilliant5 -
Aw I'm glad doglet is happy in new home 🥰.
I downsized my books three houses ago as I downsized house and couldn't fit my hoard in 🫣 a few collections I regret getting rid of but for the most part I'm glad they're gone.Emergency Fund- £697.775 -
Since my last post I spoke with a friend who reminded me that when I moved from a city to our first house in a rural shire my total possessions fitted in the back of a corsa. I also remember that when I left I didn't take much more with me, so why now this need for so much stuff just because it is here? I have hated living with the mess and sheer volume of it for years and had frankly given up the fight but now only my opinion matters I am dithering. Mad! Mad, I tell you!
Dear reader, I went back through and exited another half of the books and the contents of the cupboard without doing more than a cursory check. I may have declutterers remorse in the morning. I may dismantle the book cases altogether next.

Why am I posting this equivalent so often lately 😂
You can do a check in the morning if you have remorse, might as well gather a maybe pile while you're in the mood though so no harm done either way.
It's fine to get rid of stuff if you want to and it's fine to keep stuff if you want to. It is a pleasure of growing older that we hopefully have more money and space to have things that we like, and to have more things that have sentimental meaning or that are of use or bring comfort and joy.
Equally, no-one actually needs anything other than food, shelter, and safety, so turf it if it'll bring a smile to rock out of there with only what will fit in the back of a corsa 🥂

Although that must’ve been a tough decision for you about doglet, it sounds like she’s living her best life now and at least you still get updates on her progress. I’m so pleased it’s worked out for the best. I never used to be a dog person and resisted Mr SA’s pleas to get one for years until I finally caved in. Now I wouldn’t be without one. I still love my cats though. It’s frightening the amount of ‘stuff’ we accumulate over the years, half of it we don’t even use.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

Goodness. A tough decision, but it does sound like the right one all round.
And be kind to yourself about the house clearing. You've gone through such a lot. I hear you completely on being surrounded by someone else's stuff, and I often fantasise about turning the house upside down and shaking it all out, but I imagine it's really not that easy it all. One day, one step, one minute at a time xx6 -
I am still trying to get in my box room, I'm going to have to get the C stuff out of there in the not too distant future. I just can't get DS to bin his old computer carcasses. Each one gets bigger than the last, I'm sure he said the lastest had 3 fans!8
