I use Gemma Bray’s audio guided cleaning it’s called The Organised Mum Method. I subscribe to hers on Patreon but there are some free ones on Podcasts. They really help me get stuff done in a short timescale.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

I have a playlist of my own (just music no podcast) that I use for cleaning...all get up and move type music. Makes it a much nicer experience and I clean until the end of it and once that is done my energy usually is too 🤣 and there i will stop dead for a cuppa and not start again.Emergency Fund- £717.777

I have really got back into listening to music in the last few months, and it does help me to get things done if I tell myself I'll just do the duration of the album. I will try one of those podcasts and see if it helps @Sun_Addict
so a busy little run again, and back to trades on site. My windows are supposedly now delivered and will be fitted this week and they say they will not be leaving till they are done. I will believe it when it happens but I'm hopeful of a warmer house for Christmas. Yesterday they pressure washed the house to remove any loose stone before they make it ready for the damp stuff. No surprises at how many of the windows actually leak.I did have a little adventure which I had committed to before the works got delayed or I might have refused to go. London by train, lunch with a former colleague which was good (and a really nice pear and feta salad, must look at the menu to see what was in it and write down my memories of content I still remember) and then I did an overnight stay to spend the day with an old friend. We went to a museum and then walked to regent street to see an exhibition and then walked to the station so lots of Christmas lights. It was a lovely day and I had forgotten how much I enjoy wondering round cities and museums with no particular agenda. Dinner before my late train back included a very tasty tuna steak on a hot tomato salsa, something I would also want to recreate.
Yesterday was more restful and mostly involved sitting by the wood burner with cats arriving on rotation. My favourite carrot and cashew biriani was quick, easy and always tasty.
generally everything is ok, but stressed about the finances and the building works but overall everything is fairly positive. Low key Christmas planned but that has always been my preference and upbringing. I keep asking myself why I do things and why I keep things so I can try and refocus to what works for me rather than what worked before.Anyway, I am currently free of vans and trades so food shopping it is. Must resist the stollen. My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

Who could? Who would ? Eat it all and then it can be forgottenredofromstart said:I did not resist the stollen....
And another purchased! Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
Ooh, I do love stollen!
Glad you had a lovely festive day out 😊😊 Fingers crossed you are fully waterproof soon!4 -
My windows have stopped leaking now they've had frame sealant stuffed in the gaps. Hopefully your new windows won't take long (I seem to remember all 17 of mine were installed in 2 days last time, although it took forever for the decorators to get round to painting them...) and you'll be nice and warm before the temperatures drop.7
