Hedge laying - oh Ladybird that is a skill I really want to learn. I planted a native hedge some years ago with the intention of learning but life got out of control so that never happened. It is on my "one day I will" list
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!6 -
Oh I like the idea of NOvember Redo - I think for me it's just getting fully back to the "but do I actually need it?" mindset - certainly on things like food! It did start decently with walking away from Lils green boxes on Saturday because they just weren't good value for us.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Kajikita, I will have the windows done whenever they are ready tbh given how drafty the house is anyway, I would just have preferred not peak of cold.
NOvember is going ok, and EssexHebridean you are exactly right 'do I actually need to spend it' is my approach.
Starting point of what can I make using what is in the cupboards and fridge is going well after I reminded myself that DS1 is weird and actually likes pasta. Carbonara using frozen grated cheese and the ends of the bacon was well received.
This mornings use up stuff and make something nice was a stem ginger based flapjack. 4oz demerara, 4oz butter, heaped tablespoon of syrup and some stem ginger syrup, melted in pan, then added 6oz oats, teaspoon of ginger and some diced stem ginger. 25 minutes at 180, Chewy and very nice.
Using up the nasty teabags I bought because MrT changed their blend. I am hating this use up.
A friend dropped in at lunchtime so we had beef, stilton, rocket and onion chutney sandwiches on toasted pitta breads from the freezer, with some rather sparse salad. The F&V situation is looking rather dire now, need to work out if I can put off doing a top up until Monday based on whatever there is hidden in the freezer.

I usually have spinach and peas lurking in the freezer. And currently have strawberries (home grown), cherries (supermarket), and masses of stewed apple for fruit. Actually, I have no clue what else is in the freezer, but it's full...4

Oh thank God - another person who doesn't love pasta!4

Ah, fair enough …
I assume you have all the electric throws, hot water bottles, foot warmers all prepped ready to deploy?Do you have an actual start date now?FWIW, and I know it’s not very MSE, but I think you should just bin / compost the nasty teabags. It’s a fundamental human right to have a decent cuppa (well, it is in this house! 😉) and they sound dreadful. Stop tormenting yourself with them …
