Morning evereyone.
So many of you still ill, i hope you all feel better soon.
Hugs to everyone with worries today ((()))
Well end of the working week for dh, his back is playing up abit, he hasnt moaned about it, but keep seeing him take his painkillers and pull funny faces. Need to try and convice him to go back to the doctors, but i know he wont, like he said the doctor will tell him to rest, which will mean time off work which he wont do. Cant win!!!
Plans for today, making stuffed chicken breasts with pasta bake for tea,Kids having hot dogs at dinner.
More washing to get through, returns to Cataloge to sort out, book gas fire check up with council.
Right off to see if iv had any replys from freecycle, iv put a old table and a dolls pushchair on, hoping to get them out the way by the weekend.
Have a great day

Morning to all who have posted and all who follow.
I truly believe I have beaten the bug that has cost me two weeks of my life, a proper Christmas and New Year and a lot of food that had to be binned because I couldn't be bothered to do anything with it. TRU - I really hope you haven't got what I had and best of luck if you have! Lemsips and HM lemon and honey drinks helped me more than anything else while I was ill. I have got better in fits and starts and advise anyone who is just starting to feel ill to just give in to it and not try to do too much. Easier said than done, I know, but, if you try and keep going, it will take longer to get better.
The downside of getting better is that I'm now playing catch-up with the housew**k and everything feels neglected. I have just cleaned the bathroom, changed the sheets and tidied upstairs ready for hoovering and dusting. I have also sorted through my pressie stash to see what I've already got for DGS's and DGD's birthdays later this month. Just need to order two things online and look in town later for an outfit for DGS; I bought a beautiful party dress for DGD in Woolworth's sale for £10 (reduced from £28!) and I would like to knit her a little bolero-type cardigan to go with it so need to trawl for freebie knitting patterns later. I am also knitting her a miniature doll so must get that finished.
The BM and WM are both on doing their bit. I will also do some big food shopping later this morning because we are desperately living on left-overs at the moment. Money saving, I know, but there's only so much mince one can eat!
DH is truck-driving today so I should have the whole day to myself which makes it much easier to get things done! We did sort out finances yesterday and paid some bills so that feels more up-to-date, although, because he is self-employed, his money has been coming in dribs and drabs which makes it so much harder to plan. I shall be glad when we're up and running properly! I also need to catch up on my work - I didn't get much done at all in December what with Christmas, an almost non-stop stream of guests and being ill.
It was bitterly cold here yesterday and we had about three snowflakes - very disappointing for the grandchildren. DGS has seen snow once in seven years and DGD has never seen it. It is much milder today but they have predicted more cold spells throughout January.
Anyway, the BM has just beeped so I'd better get a move on.
VICKY and SCUZZ - (((hugs))) to you both, workwise. I hope you can both sort something more positive out this year.
CATOWEN - hope you get discharged from the hospital.
I'll try and catch up with the threads from the last few days; I've popped in occasionally but have probably missed a lot of news. I will also try and keep it with you all from now on!
Hope you all have a good day and (((hugs))) to all the poorly ones - you have my sympathy.

Hi,
We've all woken up full of cold this morning as well. Made hot banana milkshake for us and DD2 promptly spilt it all over the carpet so made her some more ... carpet cleaning has been added to the to-do list  Just wanna curl up n watch a dvd with them but plumber's coming at half 9 so need to give bathroom once over and get us washed and dressed (may be other way round
)
Food today ....... Veg/sweet potato broth to use up leftovers and fruit salad and then fishfingers, chips n beans with bun for pud.
Will go and get bits of bobs of shopping and get as much done off to-do list as I can (it is 2 sides of A4 long so may not achieve it all
).
Hope everyone has a great day!! xx

Welcome VEGASLOVER and all the other newbies who posted while I was ill and not posting regularly.
Just having a coffee; have done some more chores so I don't feel guilty. I want to get out for about 10.30 to do the food shopping but have already decided what's for dinner tonight because I found a bacon joint lurking in the back of the fridge - I shall roast it later and have some with oven chips and fried eggs. I need a simple dinner because I don't know what time DH will be home tonight. There will be enough bacon left over for sandwiches for a few days so I shall feel as though I am back OSing properly having had a couple of weeks of being wasteful.
We have loads of choccies left over because, as usual, my appetite disappeared while I was ill; my family can't believe that I even go off chocolate when I'm unwell! Anyway, I have some catching up to do there!
Well, better go and knock up the dough from the BM. My SIL and her daughters came to visit on Wednesday and I was baking some loaves; I had planned a lunch but all they wanted was fresh bread straight from the oven smothered with butter. As they had bought the remainder of their chocolate Christmas cake (they get one every year from Hotel Chocolat and it's delicious) we felt well and truly stuffed. The amount of dough I make does three loaves - one day I must cost it to see how it compares with shop-bought bread, not that I intend to buy any ever again!
Well, better go and do some more work. Second load is nearly finished in the WM - don't know whether to hang it up on the line. It's not very breezy so will probably not dry. I think I'll put it up on the airer.
Anyway, must go; I've just remembered that I must make room in the cupboard to put all the Christmas decs away. Will start taking the tree down tomorrow and just leave one or two things up until 12th night. I must also tidy my wrapping up box - a lot of the present wrapping was done while I was ill and everything ended up in a mess. I'll be cross with myself if I don't sort it out.
Anyway, see you all later.

Hello everyone,
Its been an odd sort of holiday here.
DS was back from uni and spent a lot of time watching TV and eating LOL
OH was in the doghouse ,he did his usual two days of the year when he washes up,left a huge pile of wet crockery, glasses and cutlery on the draining board (there is a rack but he never uses it) and that is the extent of the man of the house at xmas 'helpful' participation.
He also had a fit of deciding my kitchen was not to his liking and threw away half my spices ,a box of suet(meant for xmas pud making),half a bar of soap and the cutlery rack for the dishwasher(you can see why that was not a terribly sensible thing to do but he couldnt understand why I was so grumpy).
To top all of that he had a parking fine of £120 pounds for stopping in the red no stopping zone on a major road(he is a special constable and really what excuse is there when you know the no parking rules backwards).
I was quite pleased to see him back to work yesterday
This evening he is driving DS up to london to catch the coach back to scotland.
Yesterday we went into town to renew my DD's passport. £79 including the check and send service. It was worth the extra £7 though as she forgot to write in her middle name and initial a mistake and that would have got sent back to ammend.
She is back to 6th form until around may and then will be unofficially left school, officially it is not till the summer hols but all the exams are over in may.
Today I shall trek into town with DS on his last day home and we will stuff on steak bakes for lunch.
All the turkey is eaten and the big ham was finished yesterday. The huge tin of sweets is empty. The little one unexpectedly recieved by OH at work is also nothing but an empty shape taking up space.Trees are down and packed away. Back to normal SIGH:D :j :beer:0
