Yes I was really happy when read Ovo were doing E10 for old THTC (which in theory ranged from 5 to 12 hours - so no way 7 hours would be enough if heating sized for 12). My uncle was on THTC - some of his neighbours still were last Xmas.Their RTS FAQ actually also mentionsE7 or rather the Scottish variants which were pseudo E8/8.5 - E9 - split 3 ways or E10.Under told need to change my tariffs @.Shame iirc they wont quote you as an external customer on same (although not sure what their rates would be vs EDF or vs Snug) ?1
-
Im think the other companies won’t quote as it looks like I still have two related mpans
once this is sorted , I will be going to each company and getting quotes to see what suits us best
thank you all once again , invaluable help , advice snd support x1 -
Rosie, now your are now on E7, are you now on the E7 timings? And have they yet credited your EDF account with the promised £175?0
-
I’m not on E7 yet …
I’m still on E10 timings ,but on a fixed rate for both peak and off peak ..variable tariff
I’m still waiting for them to tell me E7 rates etc … I’ve agreed to nothing
no ,the credit is not on my account ,
i just want mpan sorted then I’m leaving …
it’s been a nightmare and I have had enough ….now that their call centre isn’t UK based doesn’t help the situation either , they obviously have not training their staff properly… more cost cutting and not to staff or customers benefit2 -
@Rosie1001 Hi there. I've only just read this thread of yours late last night as I've not been on the forum as much recently as I've been quite busy and another reason I won't go into here.
Two main things to say for you to think about.
I think it's become obvious that the "confusion" that EDF have about your tariff is actually down to the fact that they have not updated your meter details correctly on the National Data base. You say it's still showing two (active) MPANs - are both those appearing on the latest bill?
I'd be very surprised if they are actually discontinuing E10 all together, it's due to the fact that they think you still have complex metering and won't supply E10 on complex metering. BUT whatever, that fact that the meter details ae NOT correct on the National Database is the reason that you are having problems trying to get quotes from other suppliers or even move to another one. You MUST concentrate on getting the meter details correct on the National Database as a FIRST PRIORITY as I fear problems will continue until this is resolved. You may like to see if the DNO can assist in any way. Raise a Formal Complaint with EDF on this specific issue if you haven't already and they are being "difficult" in getting it resolved. Really they should be able to do this within hours/days at the most, if someone with the right authority is tasked.
I think a number of posters here offering suggestions, especially about Snug are forgetting/ignoring the fact that you put your washing machine etc on during the E10 afternoon boost - you have a 3hr time slot - Snug is only 1hr.
So it seems to me that IF you are considering Snug, you need to do your own calculations based on the energy you use when doing that and the length of time you are using the washing machine etc. to see if it will cost you more or less with the Snug rate of 9p off-peak compared to whatever E10 tariff you can get.2 -
EDF have told me E10 is not available to anyone anymore , they have withdrawn it apparently..I have this is a email from them and was told verbally as well
my bill shows one Mpan , but EDF only updated their system not the national database, hence the new complaint
i am more concerned about my heaters not getting enough charge without a afternoon boost …I can change when I put my washer / dryer on etc …but if it costs me more so be it unfortunately
I’ve just looked at Snug tariff for octopus..that might work , but i am not sure I will be able to get it
I’d prefer E10 from anyone if I can get it ..but I don’t think anyone Is offering it to new customers0 -
Could anyone with a meter like mine do a few quotes for E10 and see if it can be done for new customers…
I can’t do this as I’ve still got my “2 related Mpans “ so EON etc just say no online
