Has anyone figured out the definitive answer to the 'how do I drive my car to be repaired while under a stop drive order' yet? Seems the driver is bearing a little too much legal responsibility for a problem that began all the way back in 2013 - Surely the recall process should be operating like clockwork by now. lol !
I had heard they are sending out RAC mobile mechanics (with the relevant part, once available) to fit the new airbag.
I was advised that I should not drive my DS3 on 7th July. The soonest I could get an appointment for repairs is 29th September and I have a 45 minute drive. I was advised there are no mobile appointments!😡
i can’t work out how it’s ok to drive miles away for a repair but I cannot drive my car for 3 months around town! No courtesy car offered  and no compensation for the inconvenience and costs for public transport to get to work etc, it’s really unacceptable!

There is compensation, how to register for it has been posted on here previously. Citroen are offering a few quid a day for bus/taxi fares- possibly to deflect all the Ambulance Chaser claims that will appear when 120,000 people respond to the spam texts/emails/adverts.

Meanwhile on Reddit, someone is asking if it is wise to accept an Ambulance Chaser's offer of a "free" (= Credit Hire) car while they deal with his claim for compensation against Citroen.

    Took them long enough....

This is going to cost Stellantis* a lot, and make some Lawyers a lot of money, they should have made their offer of reasonable compensation more public and sooner......

*well cost me a lot as obviously Stellantis shareholders won't pay, and I will end up paying somehow, even if only through increased prices in Tesco because someone somewhere is paying more for something from Stellantis like a delivery van........
Also wondering about this, OH’s daughter affected and wants to accept an offer like this

As long as she reads the pages of 0.1 point text and understands what she has to do to not end up paying out ££££££££, (usually submit to minute financial scrutiny, fill out reams of forms and not blink before the case is over, even if it means appearing in Court), sticks to it and doesn't mind the ambulance chaser taking me (and you) for £££££ for every penny she actually gets she might get something.

The ambulance chasers make their money from the inflated credit hire fees, by creaming off a large % of any payout (there might not even be anything left after paying for a Credit Hire car, and tbf, why do you need anything beyond a replacement car anyway?) and from charging people who get cold feet and withdraw (as per the agreement they signed...)

Important to. Note that it. Appears it’s not only C3 and DS3 models. Affected. I’ve not had any letter but decided to check VOSA and it mentioned outstanding recalls. Checked. The Takata Citroen recall page, popped. My vin in and I get confirmation my 2013 DS5 is on the list.  Spent an hour trying to call local. Dealer yesterday without success so will use the number on their recall page and see what’s said. Just as I am booked for a few day trips with school hols now.

    I thought this would happen.
Seems pretty unlikely that Citroen would only source bargain bucket exploding airbags that save a couple of pounds each for 1 model when they could have multiplied the saving over the whole range. (Think of those extra crates of bubbly at the Shareholders meeting!)

The stop drive is only out on the C3/DS3 atm though, but I wouldn't smirk if you own any Citroen from 2006-2017 that hasn't been recalled for the airbags already...

And then that was that. Spoke with Citroen recall and Citroen CS today. And then the message on their search page has changed too. As of yesterday the stop drive includes DS4 and DS5 models. And they haven’t the option of a courtesy car. They are giving a max £22 per day costs allowance claim after repair. No good for me as I need a car and no one rents at that budget. Yay. 2 weeks school hols and no car.

Currently on annual leave and with plans to travel this week in addition to me escalating the case as my daughter has autism which makes public transport difficult, i was told I would receive a call back today. Gave it until now and called them back. Script read message saying a case handler will call me back but unable to give time frame. So as it stands annual leave wasted as we can’t travel unless I splash out £300 on a hire car for the week and only be able to claim back £154. Now weighing the odds of chancing to drive it.

You haven't had a letter yet, if it were me, I'd keep on using the car, there is hardly any more risk using it today than last week when you were happily using it, the propellant isn't going to degrade significantly in a few days.

Citroen would never have bothered recalling them if it weren't for pressure from the French Government anyway......

Otherwise, if citroen will definitely pay you £20 a day, you can get a weeks cheap hire for well under £200 if you search online (depends on where you live though) I'd definitely get that independent excess insurance though, and ensure that every stone chip and mark is recorded before you sign for it.
