Citroen/DS 3 stop drive recall

I am going to need to call the insurance first. Seems there is conflicting info between insurers on whether you are covered and Citroen now have a record of telling me to stop driving it. Cannot drive away and getting pulled for no insurance. Best I can get locally on a month minimum hire is £680 for a month on a Hyundai i10 which is 5 door but small. An i30 comes in at £825. Day rates start at £30. Best outcome will be aviva saying I can drive0

I know what you’re saying but it’s not just that. I drive a 2013 for a reason. Budget. 4 nights away with wife and kids in a haven camp is £1100 plus spending money. That’s tight already. I could put it on credit but payout is Min 28 days after fix so October. Which will add interest to the full amount. Even more out of pocket expense. Have another week off end of month so will hopefully rearrange and have transport sorted.sheslookinhot said:So you are prepared to waste your annual leave for the sake of £146.1 -
All from Citroen case management. Another form to complete over the phone as a priority need. Although the mention thousands others are also priority need. Explained only car I’m the household. Autistic child means public transport very difficult and again £22 per day not adequate. 25 mins to complete a form over the phone and await further response. He did mention that courtesy cars have been over a month to arrange resulting in cars potentially delivered after the repairs 🤦♂️0

Citroen Air Bag Re call.
Personal update
My 10 year old C3 was one of those affected,
Having booked it in with the local dealer , Citroen would pay £50 plus£1 per mile to get car transported 6 miles to dealer who 2 days before I had car moved to him said dont, I have not got any air bags and were 3.5 weeks behind with deliverys.
So at their suggestion I went to FormelD who do it on your drive in my case 35 mins and I only waited 8 days..
Their technician was running round the country doing about 10 cars per day and they then emailed me a certificate saying it had been done and could be driven.
As regards alternative transport, I was offered £22 per day with recipts and justification for journeys- this ammount covers nothing I could find so I formally rejected the offer.
I then hired a fiat500 for 10 days at a cost of £564 with insurance against accidents to remove Excess of £1900
Citroen will only pay £22 for 10 days so Im well out of pocket, when i took the Fiat back it cost £65.20 in taxi fare back home 16 miles, they will pay this but want bank statements to prove I paid it out, lot of black ink redacting all other transactions , now ive got to wait up to 2 weeks for it to appear in my bank.
Ive got the small claims court papers ready to claim the balance.2 -
So I had a call today from Citroen. The claim handler asking if anyone had called me regarding priority response. To which I said no. Then later this afternoon I noticed I had missed a call from thrifty. When I called them they told me the call was actually from a dept/ separate trading arm called Free2move. They took some details and said Free2Move would be sending emails with booking links within 24 hours for a hire car. However they mention that I would need to pay a holding deposit of £50. So awaiting paperwork and then potentially a call to Citroen regarding costs but hopefully a courtesy car incoming.0

So as I reg’d as a priority need because of my daughter. I finally got a response from Free2Move who took some details and yesterday had a courtesy car delivered. They were short on stock at the local switchcar which I think is Thrifty. So the focus or similar turned up as a Byd Seal u hybrid. That’s a lot of car for £30k. I then contacted Citroen to confirm what’s next. Told to call the dealer I’m booked in with 7 days ahead of booking to confirm parts and availability and then call Citroen back who will arrange collection of car. Once completed to the courtesy car will be collected.0

The stop-drive has been extended to include...
2010-2018 second-generation C3
2010-2018 DS4
2010-2018 DS51 -
Not a great conversation with local dealership (Evan’s Halshaw) Stellantis asked that I call the dealer where I am booked in, a week ahead to confirm part availability and then call them to arrange transport. I called EH on Thursday and was told that they had stock there and then but couldn’t guarantee that they would next week? I mentioned I was booked in on Wednesday and they said best to call back Tuesday. I then mentioned my model was DS5. He then said oh. They will only be fitting Citroen parts. Which I guess is ok. I asked whether the parts for a DS5 are the same as a DS3 but he didn’t know. And said call back Tuesday.
does anyone know if it’s both driver and passenger? And whether the parts are the same irrelevant of model?0 -
I am having same frustrating conversations as others with Citroen and garages. Going round in circles at the moment. The only silver lining is that my insurer Aviva has said this does not affect my insurance. Although not ideal but I can continue driving at least for short durations.0
