My plans to have a massive clean of the downstairs of my house is out the window for now because the water if off for the 3rd time this month. It usually goes off about 4 to 6 times a year, but it's getting ridiculous now. I think they must be always patching up the problem short term so they don't have to pay us compensation. I collect rainwater so I can at least give the animals water and flush the toilet.
I do really need to do this last bit of uni work and submit it, that should be my OAT for today. I've been working on it sporadically for months. That also doesn't need water to happen but I really would have liked a shower and to brush my teeth to wake me up and feel fresh.  I prefer doing brain work in the evenings and physical work in the mornings but we might have to see if I can swap it round today.

If your water goes off regularly I think I'd keep a bottle of water available so you can at least clean your teeth to help you feel a bit more awake.  I feel awful until I've cleaned mine!

Our water used to regularly go off with out warning, we got into the habit of refilling the kettle and water jug every time we used them, as well as having a couple of litres of bottled water in the cupboard. It took a lot of stress out of the situation and meant life could continue without to much compromise. I also kept a couple of extra bottles of water in so I could drop them off with my 90+ year old neighbour if need be.

There is an added bonus to filling up your hot kettle after use as that warms up the quite cold tap water & saves on electricity, rather than it just escaping into the air.

I have no idea or excuse for why I haven't been posting but oats have been tackled.  Some have been completed and others, inevitably, lead to others.
however, I have written a list in my notebook (don't let me buy a new notebook for a very long time as I have a box full of new and partially new books to use up).
I will post regularly again from next week as to do's acquire ✅'s.

same here for notepads Blackcats, and I keep on finding more.

Shredding has continued all day, it generates a lot of dust along the way plus obviously a lot of shredded paper.  It is however quite satisfying to do and I think I am about two thirds of the way in.  Certainly done a lot of the easy win stuff.    I set it up on the kitchen worktop so I wasn't bending to use it which has helped.

Finally faced the fact that we would have to engage with the dreadful Octopus and got our info together to send an email saying 'your smart meter doesn't work and we can't log in to give readings'

Also showered and washed my hair which I did not want to do and has left my chronic pain condition body somewhat sore, but I'm counting it as an OAT prevented before I get too manky!

Those are the daftest OATs aren't they @KajiKita, and such satisfaction when you do the very minor thing that leads to a more smoothly running household and is no longer taking up daily brain space!

I've done the dogs kongs and lick mats for the week (although the lick mats have to be frozen in sequence otherwise they stick together, so I have two more to do, and of course, he's had another kong and lick mat...). Also managed to do a BNS tray bake for myself, and roast some peppers. I need to portion up the tray back and mix the roasted peppers with some cannellini beans. Oh, and I've made some soup using last year's frozen borlotti beans which I've been ignoring (froze them as they weren't drying).

Picked about a billion courgettes, so will need to make a big batch of courgette curry tomorrow, and then aim to make scarpaccia later in the week (it freezes well and I make it with 100% chickpea flour so it's high protein). Also shoved lots of chard in the soup. And picked mangetout and beans which I ate for supper with some of the BNS/pearled spelt/onion/chickpea traybake. And the rest of the gooseberries which need dealing with.

One load of laundry washed and on the airer to dry.

Nothing done about a. kitchen blinds and b. irrigation pump.

Dog wants another walk. I don't, but apparently I can't send him on his own/get the cats to take him.
