Patting myself on the back this evening for taking my departed Dad's mini laptop to the small electricals recycling.
The online sites and the dodgy tech shop didn't want to buy it so I hung onto it for ages because I didn't want to just 'get rid' of something that was his, but actually those computer parts will be made into something new, and recycling will have made the world a little bit better by preventing waste, and that is a good legacy7 -
Windows have been cleaned. Not by me, but I'm pleased I managed to track down the window cleaner as he hasn't been since April. There are far fewer cobwebs on the windows as a result. However, if he's not going to stick to a regular schedule I might have to look for someone else as I don't want to have to chase constantly.3

I fired mine a few years ago. They were done once a month & unless the birds were out you couldn't tell if they had been cleaned. He sold his round & the new ones wanted once a fortnight. I let it go on. The rear access & front access are different. It took me a few weeks to realise that he was doing the front one fortnight & the back the next. Sneaky me put a mark on the last one done just to prove it. After almost 20 years of the original one I really do not feel like being conned. Same reason I stoppped having my millk delivered. The businesses suffered & it was the employees that were causing it. The original window cleaner was his own boss. They were probably well underpaid.2

Windows need cleaning? Oh my, can't remember them being cleaned - maybe they were when I was away from home in the 1960s? Once day I am going to spring for it and have them cleaned. Someone around here must wash windows.1

PIP - well done on recycling your dad's laptop. It's not easy letting go despite how rational the process might seem to be. Hearts and heads work differently. I made up a bag of some of my mum's lovely summer clothes and new-looking sandals and took them to the charity shop on Monday. Hopefully they will raise some money for a very local to us children's charity. Still found it emotionally tough though and nearly opted to drive around with the bag in the car for a bit longer 🤷♀️4

It feels like we are heading into Autumn as the weather has changed so much. I had to go and put on socks and trainers just now instead of sandals. The flooring man came round this morning and will get back to us with a quote. I called a plumber to get a quote for changing a radiator and he is coming round next week.
The window cleaner got the day wrong and didnt turn up on Monday so he will be round next week too!🤪3 -
