Yesterday I cleared the dining table so we could host extended family members for dinner.

Today I have finally started tackling the mountain of white washing that is needing treating to bring it back to white - I'm using knowledge gained from reading my Nancy B books.

Please share Nancy B's tips for washing/restoring whotes.

Seconded. I have a couple of sheets and some pillowcases that could do with help.

MUST measure for, and order, kitchen blinds this weekend. It's ridiculous to need light-filtering blinds on the north side of the house, but it turns out we do. The rooms that have them are definitely benefiting.

I thought I'd taken a massive step forward when we went to draft our wills.  Wrong!  The first draft is rubbish, clearly generated on a software package and apart from spelling children's names incorrectly, allocating my children to MrBC and his children to me the content did not reflect our discussions.  So now I am trying to limit the financial damage on that and re-start the process with a different company.
Reminding myself that this is important, grown up stuff that needs to be done.

What an absolutely rubbish outcome.  The is one of the most important documents you will produce & you should be able to be confident that what they have put is correct.  I must admit that when I went to do mine I had very definite things in my mind.  I then got a lot of well what if.  It knocked me back on my heels for a moment until I thought OMG yes what if.  Lucky you noticed because too many people think that it must be right & just sign.

You have still taken a massive step forward by starting the process. If they've made that much of a mess of an extremely important legal document you should put in an official complaint and ask for your money back.

Link below to the legal ombudsman page on how to complain, and you can use their home page to navigate more info. Interestingly they state that complaints have gone up and basically the ombudsman thinks lots of businesses doing wills are well out of order, so definitely just send off an email to the company who did it stating 'this is a complaint, resolve it or in eight weeks I'll take it to the ombudsman'.

Sorry you have to do anything, that is shocking service. But it doesn't take away the fact that you are a person who is Getting It Done 🥂

It has worked brilliantly, I'm so pleased. I had over 30 items some of which have been sitting waiting to be treated and not being used for a couple of years.

This method used salt, citric acid, water and sunshine.

I will try and post a F@ceb00k link to Nancy demonstrating the method I used (I don't have an FB account so no idea if this will work - if it doesn't can someone else please post a working link)

ETA, no it won't let me link to the post 😞

    OATs:

As already mentioned I restored to white 30+ items. As I had so much to deal with I modified Nancy B' method.
    1) laundered the dirty items (recently used)

As I had so much to deal with I decided to soak it all together it the bath.

    2) I mixed up the soaking solution to Nancy's recipe
    3) add more water so I had enough solution so all the items could soak at the same time
    4) hung the items to dry/bleach in the sun
I left the out for a couple of sunny days

I have also sorted out the car insurance cheaper policy, with better cover.
