I have been saying for ages that my next big thing had to be the confidential waste mountain. I did get quotes for a commercial service but was mildly irritated that they would not accept notepads - a good quarter of my confidential waste is work related diaries and notepads so that was limited use to me. Can't burn stuff easily as the village mafia get really vocal if anyone has a bonfire, and I prefer to get on with my neighbours.
Anyway I finally cracked and bought a decent shredder - up to 15 sheets at a time, ten minutes run time and it can cope with staples. Less than the cost of two sacks of commercial shredding, and I had about eight bags worth even without notepads. It arrived today and I have set it up on a worktop so no bending, and I am doing short sessions. It is like tidying books though, you want to re-read things which slows progress. I would have had to go through it all to check there was nothing important mixed in whatever I did with it.
I need to claim the £20 cashback offer.

Fantastic job @redofromstart, the relief you'll feel when that is all done will be immense. I personally think you should line up a cheese and wine reward evening for yourself!
£20 cashback offer is brilliant, definitely put that on tomorrow's 'absolutely doing' list 🥂2 -
Claim the cashback, and don't forget to put the shredded paper in the compost bin!
I've set up four waterbutts behind the summerhouse. They're not connected, but I shifted water from the IBCs into them to make space for the forecast rain. I now need to read the instructions for the solar pump so I can get that set up and stop using tap water on the veg plot!
Also gave the septic tank it's second oxygenator treatment.2 -
I tightened up the handles on the oven and the grill, cleaned the grill pans (1 is for gluten free food), and drum roll please, cleaned the oven.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

ooh well done Baileys_Babe, oven cleaning has to be one of the worst jobs ever.
I have claimed the cashback (£20 on a £67 purchase) and have produced two black bags worth of shredding so far. It is a brilliant bit of kit,up to 15 sheets at a time, no need to remove staples, ten minutes run time and a big waste tank. I can see myself actually clearing all of the paperwork for the first time in many, many years. I have confidential waste dating back to when I went on maternity leave in 2003!
Yes Greenbee, will use some of it for compost.

Did another vinted listing and did some more listings of bits that I've been meaning to put up for ages. Don't know quite why they became OATs but feeling very pleased they have been done now3

Five black bags of shredded paper, my hands are sore. I like my perforated notebooks best as they are relatively easy to dismantle. My little study is now free of the last seven years of my employed work related stuff. There is still a lot to go elsewhere in the house but I now have an empty shelf, several half used project books, and the added bonus of one of Mr Redos wood carvings which he clearly hid up there at some point. He tended to make them as gifts so I am pleased to have found one.
Buggeritmilleniumhandandshrimp, there is more under the desk. Cup of tea and some out of date peanut M&Ms and I will start up again. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
