Finally finished sorting the cut out of magazines recipes into folders. This has been an ongoing job for some time.

    Definitely a job well done.

I have some assorted general niff naff to do next week - lots of rubbish bits that I’ve been  putting off that will require minimal effort in the grand scheme of things.

I gave the kitchen bin and the 3 indoor recycling bins a good power wash in the shower, then dried them outside in the sunshine. Been meaning to do that for ages! 😃

Washing the bins in the shower is an inspired idea Cheery! I may steal it.

Was up early to walk the dog before the heat arrives (but mostly because the cats insisted I get up), so ran the irrigation for the veg plot while I was out, and then when I got back I opened the greenhouse, picked peas and strawberries.

As well as nice things that need doing today like more veg picking and prepping/freezing, I MUST sort out the house insurance. It's not going to auto-renew, and I haven't get got round to getting alternative quotes.

Actually I think I will have to give the big curtains (almost floor to ceiling) to the laundrette I got to wash my winter duvet as I suspect they will overload my machine. 😊

@KajiKita - a friend who makes curtains says you shouldn't wash them, just hoover them with an upholstery brush while they are hanging. I try to remember to do this fairly regularly (but probably fail) and it seems to work - some of them are very old (one pair were in my grandmother's bedroom when I was little), and some have been relined/edged as the fabric has faded, but they have lasted well. In fact... I think (while there may have been some alterations) the newest ones are around 15 years old and still in good condition.

@greenbee, I partly wanted to do this to freshen them up. They are in the lounge where the wood stove is, so inevitably get a bit sooty plus we did a lot of DIY in here and although they were moved out of the way I still think they got grubby. They aren’t anything special - totally synthetic (apart from the linings with in I think are a cotton mix), bought c. 5 years ago when we moved here.

One chest freezer defrosted, mopped dry, hoovered, and turned back on yesterday. I've just moved everything into it from the other one (which has made me realise how much bigger the new one is than the old one!), and am defrosting that. I'm freezing so many strawberries at the moment that I need to get organised - hopefully there will be other things from the garden that I'll find time to freeze later in the season!

Today needs to be a quiet day, mostly strawberry and pea picking and processing, and maybe a bit of reading. But first I have to take some stuff over to my mum's and check up on her as she hasn't been well.

So yesterday I managed an OAT that I had been promising to complete from when these threads started.
on what was probably the hottest day of the year I took advantage of my daughter and 1 grandson being here and emptied the freezer, sorted it all out, did an inventory list and put it all back correctly.

Love that there is so much freezer defrosting going on! Absolutely the right time of year for it 😊

This morning I have topped up the salt in the dishwasher. A small but very annoying OT! 😉
