Very sure. There is no tax to claim back on it, unless the "keep £5000" option was chosen. All in here:35har1old said:
Are you sure it is cashback?WillPS said:Barney1954 said:When did it change? It still is if you take the '£5 for saving £5000' option (which is a poor choice!).All rewards were paid such that a basic rate tax payer received the headline amount until spring 2020. The new '£5 for spending £500' reward was paid as is on the grounds that it is cashback, and so not taxable.
As I have heard of non tax payers claiming the tax back
https://www.halifax.co.uk/assets/pdf/bankaccounts/pdf/banking-offers-guide.pdf
"If you choose the Offer to keep £5,000 or more in your account, the Monthly Reward will be paid 'net' after the deduction of income tax at the rate set by law (currently 20%). The gross value of the Monthly Reward before income tax is taken off is £6.25. If you're a higher rate tax payer, you may have to pay extra income tax on the Monthly Reward directly to HMRC. If we have deducted more tax than you have to pay you may be able to claim it back from HMRC."
This has been the case since spring 2020. The previous incentive was taxable.1 -
Where is this information from, please? The letter I received from the Halifax doesn't mention this. Just says I won't get the rewards after September (paid in October).surreysaver said:
You'll get a lump sum in October to take you up to when your rewards expiremasonic said:I don't think it's been mentioned yet, but those of us who renewed our July-expiring rewards just before the window closed seem to have got another years worth. Mine has updated from saying it expired 31st July 2025 to 31st July 2026. Sadly my other two were opened later in the year, but one out of three isn't bad.0 -

EDIT: found under track your rewards and all 3 expire 30 June 2026 so 3 lots of £45 = £135 due in October’s final reward?*
* or is it 3 lots of £50 = £150 due in September?

This doesn't work for me on the Web site or the app. When I select "Track your Reward Extras" I just get a page telling me that they are no longer available and I can no longer add them. Exactly the same page as when I select "Add your Reward Extras"FIREDreamer said:

I didn't particularly want to see the expiry dates - I was more interested in tracking for the current month, but that doesn't seem to be visible any more.0 -
Just checked my rewards info is working fine but the app is very slow.0

Since they announced the cessation the rewards checker seems much better.ThePirates said:Just checked my rewards info is working fine but the app is very slow.

I wonder if my rewards happen to have expired this month anyway by coincidence, and that's why I can't track them. I can't see an obvious way to check when I last renewed them. Doesn't seem to be anything in my documents inbox.Fingerbobs said:

Edit: Yep, found an email from June 2024 confirming I'd selected my rewards. No lump sum for me then.0
