Your logbook is almost certainly out of date re the address. Sort that out immediately if we're right. Ignore APCOA and the £170 threatograms except to send APCOA an email now if your old address was used. You must insist they ERASE the old address if they used it for the PCN, and note your correct address.

HI There, I have found the original notice to say we made a drop off at Manchester Airport T2 and failed to pay the charge, it got mixed up with some other post and I found it while checking our logbook details....
Poor from me and I cannot believe we have missed it,
probably as in Sons name, so its his post, and he lives away from home sometimes.

We are now with the threatograms from Debt Recovery Plus for £170.
is there anything I need to do apart from ignore them?

Nope. But it's your son who should be ignoring them, not you!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

thank you, I do feel a bit responsible though as we made the airport run and said we would make the payment so its a bit of both our faults  :(
do they just stop sending letters?

They do after 6 years or so, so it's a long haul, not a short term thing

Its either ignore or pay in full, no middle ground,  therefore it's ignore the powerless debt collectors letters,  because that is all they can do,  send letters  ( the good news is that it keeps the Royal Mail trading and the paper recycling centres free donations,  or it keeps hamsters warm and comfortable instead   )

But don't disappear just yet. This month, we need you!

PLEASE bookmark this thread below and do Public Consultation if you haven't done it yet. See this thread: -

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6617396/parking-code-of-practice-consultation-8-weeks-from-11th-july-2025/p1

We need every poster to come back & complete this vital Consultation before the deadline! Just 2 weeks left but please don't rush it. You can do some then save it and come back to it as you have time.

We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that.

Any questions on the Consultation please ask - on the dedicated thread - but I've covered up to question 20 already in that first post, openly telling everyone what I'm going to put and/or what sort of evidence you might wish to use for your response, if you agree with what we'll be saying from our experience.

Whilst your answers must of course be your own, there are vital points to safeguard motorists interests to make, that many people may not think of without our guidance because we see cases every day and we know the legal background. However, people like you have lived & breathed the intimidation, greed and unfairness first hand so your voice is needed!
