Morning all.......(((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

JoJoB can you get a timer fitted to your immersion, that would switch it on and off as required. We had one on our water tank, it used to heat for an hour in the morning and an hour at night...........mind you if its working properly it should reach temperature and then switch off, it will then cycle to keep the water at the preset temperature, if you see what I mean.

No snow, but its a very dull dank day again. The people from the Attendance allowence are coming today to see if OH is on the right level, he is on the lower rate just now.............will see what they say.

Need to make a pot of leek and spud soup for lunch, did macoroni cheese yesterday for tonight, will have it with baked tommy's and a baked spud or salad. I like to have salad at least 2 days during the winter.........otherwise we tend to eat stodge, which does not help the old weight!!!! OH always puts weight on in the winter, no allotment and no bowls = weight gain.

I was looking for mirror plates that I bought a while ago yesterday, can I find them?????? NO!!!!!!!!!!!! but I did find 2 pairs of secatuers, missing since we moved and another 1-1/2 yds of ready quilted fabric, so looks like someone will get a set of 4 mats for Christmas this year..........have enough to make 8 square mats........have also found a pattern for a chicken which hangs on the wall to put things like wooden spoons, whisks etc in. I am going to make one up and see what its like..........also the pattern for a duffel type bag which you can either sling over your shoulder or use as a back pack. Again will make one and see what it looks like.

Right offsky to start the leek soup for lunch.....cheers m'dears.............................have a good day........

    Good morning!

Just a flying visit, I've done absolutely nothing so far today:o (well nothing remotely like work, or does reading my books count:D ) It's freezing cold, but no snow (yet! they did forecast it). Not sure if I want it or not. It's beautiful to look at, but does bring everything to a stop if it's more than an inch or so:rotfl:

Going to make a lovely beef casserole for tonight. That should warm them up, and it'll smell great cooking all day. And if I can prise the dish away from them, I might even get a portion or two to freeze;)

The washing has been breeding again, so that looks like a couple of loads to do. It'll have to be the tumble dryer on, but at least that will help warm my freezing kitchen. Why did I listen when the guy said, nobody uses a radiator in the kitchen, it get's too hot:rotfl: Not when it's north facing and has three doors it doesn't!!!!

Must stop moaning:o (((hugs)))) to all in need, especially taplady. (everything crossed for you)

    Hello all.

Woke up to a covering of snow but not as much as thought and it seems to be melting away now. But there's more to come we're told and the sky is looking like that too. Snow on wet roads - dodgy. Not going anywhere till its well and truly gone. Glad I nipped out and got some bargains for christmas yesterday.
Took all the christmas baskets plus pressies upstairs to the spare room.........at last I can see the carpet in comp. room.............:j
Paperwork to sort through............other desk is chaotic mess and needs sorting so off to do that.

Have a good day and stay warm:j

We do have a sort of timer thing, that you put pins in at the time you want it to go on, trouble is it will flick on but not flick off. Could fork out for a new one but as the flat is up for sale i don't want to spend on a plumber at the mo. Will just make more of an effort to remember!

  • *Waving from behind a mountain of clementines*

Happy New Year everyone :) And a Happy Thursday to you all too *checks calendar to make sure it is definitely Thursday*

It's freezing cold here at Duxford today but no sign of the snow yet...probably means that as I hit "Post" the white stuff will start falling :D Busy wading my wade through a glut of clementines - they were 2 for 1 in Sainsburys and silly moo that I am forgot I had already bought some (also on 2 for 1 the previous week)

Amazingly, my clothes don't feel any tighter than they did before Christmas, if anything slightly looser - but we did do a lot of walking down in Devon, and didn't snack too much, so hopefully it's all under control :D:D:D

Currently sorting through all my photos trying to decide which to enter in the Garden Photographer of the Year competition currently being run by Kew, and which to hold back for the RHS Garden Photographer competition. I keep being told by family and friends to actually DO something with my photos, so at OH's encouragement I'm going to try my luck. I'm looking into producing a range of cards and prints to sell, having decided that 2008 is a year for new things and new directions :)

Hugs too all that want or need them :)

P.S. Anyone want a clementine? *delicate lady burp*

    Afternoon all :)

Just popping in - I've been neglecting the OS board these past few months in favour of the Celebrations board, but I need to get back into the flow for various reasons, so I'm back (mainly lurking) again.

First day back at school and playgroup here, so my madhouse has calmed down.

I will admit I've taken today to relax and do 'desk jobs' - sorting the finances, making phone calls and the such - things I can't do with three little whirlwinds whizzing around me - so not much to report really.

However, from tomorrow I need to get my head down - the laundry and ironing is a little backed-up, and the house is a toy-filled mess (clean - but messy), and I don't want to go into the weekend like that.

    :)

Woke up to a light covering of snow outside.

Made porridge for DD(18) and me and then DD(13) asked for drop scones so I made some specially for her!

Veg soup is in the slowcooker and DH is desperate to try some - added a tin of green lentils to give it more bulk.

Sat here with a cup of hot coffee beside me - bliss!

Need to use up pork mince so it is either shepherds pie or spag bol tonight.

Unless I make my own burgers with potato wedges (HM) done in the oven?

Weekend will be hectic as taking 18 year old to Newcastle (back to uni) on Saturday and 22 year old to Oxford on Sunday!

DH and I polished off the remains of the chicken curry, that I made last night ,for lunch.

    See you later

    and big hugs
