Scuzz - is there no temporary work round your way? Or could you join a union?

Unfortunately there's no temp work in my line of work unless I go freelance, and with a mortgage looming, I can't take the risk of not having work. I am a member of a Union and I will be contacting them, as my job was changed last summer without a new contract being drawn up. They've already said this is illegal and could ultimately lead to unfair dismissal. I've given notice that I want a contract, but I was told the letter informing me of the changes surficed. I said no as I haven't signed anything. So I've been promised a contract. However, if it doesn't arrive by the end of the month, I'll be back on the phone to the union. They won't be happy especially after all the problems I had with work when I was off for three weeks with stress (boss kept calling demanding I attended meetings and wanting to know when I would be back at work - again not allowed)

I hate getting wet. :D We're having eggplant croquettes for tea tonight  new recipe, I hope they taste ok. We have a million eggplant's all at once. Of course. :D If anybody has any yummy recipes for them please sing out.

HH She might be ok with the littlies. Can she change to the lower grades? That's if they can understand her. :D
scuzz How is your new flat coming on?
    :hello: Mrs Mix

I best get going. I'm up to the mashing steamed eggplant stage. :D They should be cool enough now. Hope you all have a great day and it's not too cold. Byeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Goooood morning everyone! We have snow :snow_laug :snow_grin Donny-gal do you have any yet? It looks beautiful, atm, so hope it lasts. Was planning to go to York shopping today, so will see what it looks like later. We may have to make snowballs instead ;)

Catowen - hope the blood tests aren't too bad. I like bacon and sliced tomato in quiche.

Aussie - we make aubergine pasta bake. Soften a chopped onion with some garlic. Add cubed aubergne and soften that. Add a tin of chopped tomatoes and some herbs and seasoning. Pour over some cooked pasta and top with mozarella cheese. Bake until hot.

Off to finish the ironing and assemble tonight's lasagne (after a quick surf and another :coffee: :p ).

:hello: Have a great day, Penny. x

    Good morning everyone!

Still half asleep as didn't sleep well in spare room as DH poorly and coughing a lot and DS age 6 woke me up twice as he said he was having nightmares and he came in my bed twice and slept there for a while. Sadly I didn't sleep at all! Got a sore throat too, maybe psychological as I have to go to work today and DD back to school but we'll be leaving the boys in bed.

Have stuff in the tumble drier, got dinner sorted got to do DD's packed lunch but think it should be ok toay though work will be busy (nurse in a clinic that has been shut for 2 days!)

Have good days everyone and hope to catch up with you all later xxx

Not really sure to be honest. Last I heard was the week before Christmas. Had a letter saying he draft contracts have been sent to the vendors' solicitor and my lot are awaiting their response. Hoping that's a good sign:confused:

    Morning!

((((HUGS)))) to all those who need/want one (especially scuzz, taplady and beemuzed) and welcome to glittercloud.

I've woken up full of cold arr! Am gonna do myself a hot lemon and honey in a min. Still didn't get round to sorting kids room out yesterday ... it's tidy but needs de-cluttering so that's on the to-do list for about the 4th day running :p , also want to get uniforms ready and then am gonna go out and about leaflet dropping and then to visit a friend for a nice cuppa and a spot of lunch :D also need to go post office, bank and avoid any shops coz had a NSD yesterday and wanna have another today. I've also got 2 carrots, cabbage, sprouts, 6 bananas and 2 mini-pairs to use up and must make some thank you cards for xmas gifts and send a couple of e-mails.

I spent far too long on the pc yesterday ... did get loads of bits sorted but mostly non-essentials so wanna switch off shortly (although DD1's just informed me that she's gonna have a go in a min).

Where's our snow?! DD2 told me that it wasn't a proper christmas yet coz we hadn't had any ... bless.

Hope every1 has a great day xx
