  • Just making a toasted muffin. Heading off to the gym in a minute. Then the dentist. They asked me if I wanted to work overtime this morning but I can’t miss the dentist.

My pay is showing in my bank account although it comes through overnight tonight. I’ve decided to clear my overdraft this month and make a smaller debt payment. It will be a real test of willpower.

Off to my friend’s for dinner tonight after work. I think we’re having spaghetti bolognese. I’m looking forward to it plus she lives on the way home from my work so it’s not out of the way.

I’m a tiny bit snotty, unsure if I have a slight cold lurking. I thought that the other day too. I haven’t really been ill this winter so hopefully it won’t get any worse.

Clearing the overdraft will be a huge achievement!

Payday! Up and have moved all the money around. Just got to wait for my credit card statement to make a payment towards that. £100 in the Emergency Fund and overdraft paid off. I just have to not use it now. I know it will be tempting at the end of the month but if I stick to the budget I won’t need to.

Had a great day at work yesterday. I did loads of the jobs we’ve been left for while it’s quiet so hopefully some brownie points. When I finished at 6 I found a little present in my coat pocket from my line manager. I opened it straight away (I don’t usually wait until Christmas Day). I was really touched, it was a little case with a few nice things in, it was so lovely and thoughtful. Went to my friend’s for dinner. Her son has tonsillitis but luckily he wasn’t too ill. I avoided sharing his ice cream despite his kind offer! She made shakshuka for dinner but she put chick peas in. I’m definitely going to try that as it was delicious.

Off to the gym again after shower and breakfast and then another day at work. Tasks and then a short day tomorrow and straight off to the train. I need to pack tonight and clean my flat so I can come back to a nice clean flat after New Year.

Good gym session this morning. Plus when I got to work I was offered the chance to swap onto the early shift tomorrow which will really help with travel.

My mum hasn’t been too well and also has a meat delivery scheduled for tomorrow afternoon so I have said I’ll get the bus from the station to hers. She is saying no but I think I will insist.

I’ve managed to eat a load of junk at work this morning. I did buy a salad for lunch even though I wasn’t hungry because I felt like I needed to eat something healthy. Just having a coffee and relaxing before I go back to work.
