  • i kept payimg cc too early and found out you can pick your statement date which sorted this problem for me.
Thanks for this! I’ll try and change it as this has caught me out before.

A great day at work plus my Friday shift got changed to an early which I slightly prefer. Spent £1 on a bag of crisps at lunch but nothing else. Just at home listening to the radio and doing a wash. I need to wash up soon (I’ve already eaten).

I got my second assignment back for my access course and I scored 100% again. I’m so pleased. I think it’s a bit of a sign the course is a tiny bit too easy for me but it’s a good reintroduction to study.

Going to do some knitting tonight if I have the energy.

  • Another good day at work. I was on my own as someone was unwell but I managed and everything went smoothly. Treated myself to a tuna sandwich and a coffee in Pret as I have joined a gym and I had an appointment to go there to fill in some paperwork. I did that and then had a coffee at Starbucks which I regretted. Now I’m home and I’ve had curry and rice for dinner.

I got a message from British Gas to say that I’d cancelled the direct debit for my Homecare and needed to contact them. I did notice that they didn’t take the direct debt however I’m pretty sure I didn’t cancel it. Anyway it turns out they don’t even cover electric boilers and they let me cancel my policy, with no charge it seems. So I’m quite pleased about that.

A quiet weekend coming up. I’m working until 1 on Christmas Eve and then I’ll rush home and then off to the station to try and catch the earliest train possible. My mum will pick me up from the station and she tries not to drive in the dark.

  • Ok day at work, few hiccups but it’s done now. I got my payslip, I think they’ve paid me at the wrong rate for some of my overtime which is annoying but I guess I’ll get it back in January’s pay. I’ll check next week.

Just at home drinking a coffee before I smash through my chores. I got a free sandwich from work and had that for dinner which was pretty nice. A nice change. I’ve signed up for Veganuary so that will also be a nice change. I’ve been saving recipes and getting ideas for lunches and dinners. I said I’d do the first week but I might do the whole month.

  • A very quiet weekend ahead. I need to vacuum and clean the bathroom. I should go to the gym as well this morning when it gets light. I’m eating bits and pieces this weekend as it’s just before payday and I’m also clearing the fridge out ready to go away on Wednesday for 9 days. I must start thinking about packing as well. Another cup of coffee first. Chips and ketchup for lunch.

  • I’ve had a very very quiet day. I didn’t end up waking up until 9, which is pretty much unheard of for me. I did manage to clean the bathroom which I’m pleased about. I went out for a walk to collect my neighbour’s parcel as she’s had to go back to Romania suddenly as her dad had a stroke. It was a really nice walk in the sunshine. Although it was running an errand it got me out of the house and was lovely.

This evening I went to the gym and did an hour. I’m determined to start going regularly. Hopefully it will improve my mental health and mean I have more energy. I feel good for having gone.

My friend invited me round for dinner on Monday. It will be lovely to see her and her little boy and not have to cook. I also had some Christmas WhatsApps from an old friend and I think we’re going to meet up in the new year. All good stuff to look forward to.

  • Sunday. I might go for a coffee with my knitting group but that’s not confirmed yet. I also want to do a gym session, wash up and vacuum. Two days to payday. Four days to the Christmas holidays.

I've made overnight oats for breakfast which is a bit of a treat. Also I’ve started recording what I’m eating properly again. I’m starting my New Year’s resolution early. When I’m away at my mum’s I’m going to try and have plenty of walks. I’m also going to plan my activities for the day each morning to ensure I achieve stuff every day as I can struggle a bit with unstructured time.

  • New Year’s resolutions - ideally lose a stone, if not just start using the gym regularly and tone up. Keep lake swimming once it warms up a bit.

Save 3k emergency fund which is two months living expenses after I pay off all debt.

Feeling really determined and good about New Year’s resolutions this year which is unusual for me.

Good plan! I try to plan the next day’s activities the evening before, if possible.

I’ve got a couple of things on the free app today. Muffins, for breakfast and the freezer and I’m going out to collect some frozen duck offal in a bit. Once I’ve done Veganuary I think I’ll be eating pâté for a little while.

Good gym session this morning, then a coffee with a couple of people from my knitting group. It turned out I had the wrong number of stitches for a hat I was knitting but I wasn’t too keen on how it was turning out so I unravelled it and found another pattern. I might start it this evening while watching the final of Game of Wool.

I’ve been recording what I’m eating as well as going to the gym. I’m aiming for about 1800 calories a day. Once I can stick to that I might reduce it a bit.

Dentist tomorrow and two and a half more days of work until the break.
