Should itsthelittlethings spend less on coffee?

One more day to the weekend and Christmas celebrations. I went into town after work to buy my nephew's present as when I opened the thing I'd got him, it was the wrong size. I really should have checked when it arrived but I just assumed it was ok! I've got him a pasta cookbook and I hope he'll like it.
My sleep has been terrible this week since I got back from my mum's. I had a coffee late on Tuesday, a friend rang at 10 last night and I know I've had too much caffeine today as well. Never mind. I worked at a quiet station today and had a really good day. I took the advantage to do some planning and research for options. I was working out how much I might be able to save and looking at places I could potentially move to as well as thinking about what I might study next. At the end of the day I realised I'd forgotten to do something for tomorrow and had to do it quickly! Luckily there wasn't much to do. Sometimes when it's quiet you keep up with your work less than when it's busy because it's harder to concentrate.
I've got a pasta bake out of the freezer in the oven and just watching Four in a Bed. I'm also waiting for someone to come and collect something off Olio.Credit card 2031

It’s the weekend! I slept well last night. Just having coffee and doing my chores before making dinner. I’ve also got to pack to go away tomorrow.
Work was good. It’s pretty quiet now as we’re in the run up to Christmas. I also had some kind words about my performance from my manager’s manager. All in all pretty good.Credit card 2031

Up early. I’ll pack in a bit to go away then vacuum when it’s a decent time. My
siater is picking me up around 10 and we’re off to my mum’s. Just enjoying a coffee out of my advent calendar.
I have discovered that lake swimming is still taking place, it’s just moved to a Sunday. The bus isn’t quite as seamless to get there as on a Saturday but I think I’ll start going again after Christmas. I do enjoy it and it’s good for my fitness.
I’ve got the knitting needles I need to and I’ll do some work on my hat this weekend. I need to buy oat milk and blueberries so I’ll go to Tesco when it opens. Other than that I really mustn’t spend anything.Credit card 2031

Relaxing at my mum’s. Everyone else is asleep. We did a nice Christmas quiz yesterday and had a lovely buffet for tea. It was nice to all be together. My brother-in-law will be here at lunchtime as he has work this morning. Looking forward to breakfast pancakes which my sister has promised to make. The baby is being good although a little overwhelmed by cuddles. As I went past their bedroom I could hear her white noise machine which apparently helps her sleep.
9 days to payday. I have no spending money, although I do have all the food in. I’m going to make a cabbage, carrot and potato curry with flatbread on Monday and have that on Tuesday as well. Then I’m eating out of the freezer. I made a very nice curry on Friday and have four portions of that. I also have some pasta bake and frozen fish. I have some frozen cheese sauce so will make some macaroni cheese when I’ve made some space in the freezer. I think it’s cheese sauce, anyway.
Going to do some knitting on my hat now before everyone wakes up. Or doze. One or the other…Credit card 2031

On the train on the way home. It was lovely to see the whole family, and we had a lovely roast meal, but it’s nice to get some peace and quiet finally. I’ll be glad to get in my own bed tonight. I think the presents (for my secret Santa recipient and for the kids) were a success so I’m pleased about that. I got a swimming float and some coffee from my secret Santa.
I’m working at 7.30 tomorrow at the new site. I quite like it there as it’s quiet and chilled. I’m there all week so that should be ok. It’s an early morning but I’ll get to sleep soon after I get home. Not much else to say really. Half the lights on this train have just gone out, I don’t know if it’s supposed to be restful. Hey ho.Credit card 2031

A minor win! I realised it’s one of the months when I don’t pay my direct debit for my prescription prepayment so that’s some extra money! Just chilling at home and making Ethiopian cabbage, carrot and potato curry which I’m going to have with rice. There should be enough for tomorrow and maybe the next day. I’ve also got my bedding and towel in the wash - usually I do them every week but I haven’t been able to the last two weeks so it will be nice to have clean bedding tonight.
Work was lovely and quiet, a very nice day. I also got a free orchid as they changed the plants and they don’t take them away when they’re finished. Something else to look after.
I’ve got a gym induction on Thursday. I’m going to try and get my fitness going after Christmas. The gym is only ten minutes away!Credit card 2031

Hello @itsthelittlethings goodness you sound exactly like me!
Nice to catch up on your diary - I will admit I didn't read it all.
So nice that you had a lovely time away with your family and got a nice pressie that you will actually use!
The curry sounds delish!Debt Free - 4th June 20252 -
Morning! Just chilling before work. I’m on a lateish shift today so I don’t have to be in until 9 today. Two hours until I need to be in the shower. I did all my chores last night so my flat is lovely and clean. Hopefully another not too busy day at work.
I have £70 left in my overdraft, dentists on Monday which will cost just under £30. I probably don’t need to buy anything else which is good. I have milk and bread, the usual suspects.
My new orchid looks nice although the flowers are close to dropping off. Then I guess it’s just a matter of waiting for it to flower again.Credit card 2031

Morning! Had a dream about pensions and my old job. I had to make guests tea and coffee which is one bit of my job I don’t miss. Just listening to the radio now.
Found out that I got £25 in some kind of rewards thing from work when I got the nice words from the manager. You can spend it on an Airbnb voucher so I will use that towards my night in London at the end of January. Something to look forward to.
Bit of a panic yesterday as I got a text reminding me to pay my credit card. It turned out that yet again I had paid it when I got paid, before the statement date, so I hadn’t paid anything towards November’s statement. I had to hurriedly borrow £60 from my mum to make the minimum payment. Very annoying. I must make sure I don’t do this going forward.
I spent £8 in Asda last night. Might go out for a coffee this weekend with someone from knitting group. I’m not sure yet. That’ll be another £5. Then I’ve got Monday’s lunch to sort, maybe a salad at work (£4). Waiting for payslips to come out so I can fine tune my budget for January.
I’m away for 9 days over Christmas and New Year. Will take the opportunity to do some studying and knitting. Also get some reading done perhaps.Credit card 2031
