  • Knitting group was ok. Someone is pregnant so there was a lot of baby talk which I can only stand for so long. After about two hours someone dropped a hint and I gladly left. Home now, I've had the first part of my dinner and putting the second part in the oven right now. Need to wash up after dinner. Tomorrow I'll vacuum. Going to watch Netflix (£12.99 a month) after dinner. I'm staying up till 9 tonight to let my large dinner go down and also as I am on lates next week I don't need to be early to bed.

I need to text Mr Unsuitable tomorrow so he knows I haven't forgotten about him. He's doing his tax return at the moment. Very impressive.

You can get  Netflix for £5.99 a month, does it really matter if there’s adverts? That’s £7 a month saved 😁

    Morning.

No no spend day today as £4 on a coffee for knitting group. On the way I need to post a film to be developed. It’s all paid for already apart from the postage. £3.20 hopefully.

Need to do the washing up and portion up my pasta bake. Plus the Saturday vacuuming.

Tomorrow I will study two units of my Open University access course. Also make a quick beetroot pickle. Need to water all my houseplants (a lockdown hangover) as I’m away next week as well.

Also need to throw a wash on.

One more coffee then I’m on water.

I’m going to the gym tomorrow.

I did another assessment on the Stepchange website. I ticked “I can easily afford to heat my home”. They suggested I spend less on clothes and toiletries which I totally get but I also said “I don’t see how I can reduce this”. They suggested I save £25 towards emergencies which I’m trying to do. I’d highly recommend them. If I can just get a handle on money and work I’ll be ok. I feel a lot better since I started getting on top of my money. First step is to face the debt (I know it’s not a lot). They suggested shopping around for utilities etc. My problem is I’m a very loyal consumer. I’ve been with British Gas for 7 years and they probably overcharge me £10 a month at a guess.

Saturday Kitchen in a bit. My mum got me into it.

Last but not least I need £300 for a new kitchen tap. Maybe when I’ve paid my debt off and freed up £200 a month. My flat is starting to look a bit dilapidated.
You need to start prioritising building an emergency fund and paying off the debt. It’s better to do it now than before it gets bigger

My debt is not getting bigger. My 0% deal is up in around October.

If I can save £100 a month that is £6000 in 5 years.

British Gas have benefited by £840 of your being loyal. Loyalty is what they hope for. Shop around, haggle, treat it like a game that pays prize money.  Cancel Netflix for when you are next travelling and they'll beg you to come back for pennies (well, maybe £s)
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

I didn’t mean it’s getting bigger now, I meant it could do if you don’t get to grips with budget etc now

    Deliveries I am waiting for.

    Clothing - £80.
    Upcircle Hair Serum - £24.

Can't wait to get my clothes and hang them out. I'm determined to wear them. I am getting a lot better at actually wearing clothes I buy.

Plans for today, vacuum, gym, study.

I have people coming round off the Olio app. It's good to get rid of stuff.

  • Morning all. Off to the gym in a minute. I say a minute, I actually mean an hour and a half. I like being part of the 6:30 crew.  Hoummus on toast for breakfast. Just a scrape of hoummus as I had a bar of orange chocolate walking to the shop on the retail park yesterday and that's filled me up. I like the transgression of being a woman eating in public. It was Mr T"scos Finest Cote D'Ivoire chocolate. I'm doing veganuary. I checked the ingredients.

I seem to have a fungal infection, tentatively identified as ringworm. If it's not one thing it's another. The pharmacist said it's a wart but I doubt it. I have tea tree moisturiser but it's not touching it. I picked up up 20 years ago doing some gardening. It flares up sometimes. It's not red in many places. I can't even. I had an eye infection a couple of years ago caused by stress which calmed down after I quit a demanding job. The problem is you can't go around quitting jobs forever. Maybe I will stop having hot baths as I feel like that is aggravating it. They declined a blood donation from me due to the eye infection. At least I can say I tried.

One week to my holiday. Me and mum shall go for walks and knit and watch Netflix. She won't knit as she can't knit.

Financially I am in ruins. I am in debt to the tune of £1800. It hasn't gone down this month as I shifted the payment date to after payday and they didn't send a statement for January. Or December. I am struggling with the months. I am up to date with all priority bills. No store cards or anything similar. Low amounts of liquid cash. I have food and may do another store cupboard challenge.

I have £80 saved towards my Emergency Fund.

My housing situation is good. I've been here 8 years and the lease must be sitting at around 105 years.

    I will do an SOA.
