Wednesday today, nearly halfway through the week. I need to go to the library at lunchtime to print a label. Will hopefully get my payslip this weekend. Then I need to vacuum this evening but other than that it’s a quiet one. I have a job I like lined up to do at work today.
I need to do some knitting ready for a workshop on 3rd July but I just don’t feel like it in this heat.
I had an email from the Open University (I am doing a course with them in the autumn) saying they have three days of workshops etc in July. Annoyingly it’s during the week and I don’t have much holiday left. Maybe I’ll just take one day off and do it. Some are live sessions, some are recorded. Obviously I can catch up on the recorded sessions in my own time but it would be nice to attend some live sessions (online). Something to think about.Credit card 1891

I have nearly used up all of the seeds and bits and pieces I have with yoghurt for breakfast. When I get paid I need to get to the health food shop and stock up again. They are expensive, particularly Cacao nibs but they go a long way.Credit card 1891

Annoying! My toaster has just broken. Luckily I don’t eat much toast so it’s not too urgent to get a new one.Credit card 1891

I would suggest that you establish a sinking fund for those extra ‘health’ purchases. Perhaps also review what is really necessary. Ii is so easy, and I speak from experience, to get taken in by all the promises made for certain substances. In reality a good balanced diet and regular exercise is all that is required.1

The day before payday. I’m up late as I can’t sleep in the heat.Have had a good week. I think work is going well. I was asked to do a very simple PowerPoint (have done a couple of PowerPoint courses) and my boss seemed pleased with me after I sent it to him. I printed it out and proofread it which is a neat little trick I learnt somewhere.
The morning coffee habit continues. I have got out my cold brew flask so will be making some cold brew in the promised heatwave next week to save money.
It’s Glastonbury this weekend. Much as I love the thought of it, a weekend in a tent with raging hayfever and no proper showers isn’t my idea of fun, let alone at a cost of £350. So I’ll be on the sofa with snacks watching it on the BBC. Looking forward to Kae Tempest if they are playing and hopefully Pulp although I’m not sure they are there.
I have done a budget for next month. I have slipped on writing down all my spending but I will sit down at the weekend and do it.Credit card 1891

I would really like to start exercising again. I don’t know why I can’t find the time or motivation at the moment.Credit card 1891

I would like to get my food spend down. I probably spend about £230 per month on food.
I could cut back on luxury coffee as supermarket beans are just as nice. My palette isn’t that sophisticated! That is a start I guess. I like all fresh ingredients, not too much frozen supermarket stuff and I don’t like tins except tinned tomatoes. I’m also going to get my seeds from the supermarket rather than the health food shop from now on.Credit card 1891

I find writing down spending is best "in the moment" as you can "forget" things...itsthelittlethings said:The day before payday. I’m up late as I can’t sleep in the heat.Have had a good week. A small notebook or a simple Google sheets on your phone (which you can also access on your laptop etc.) is an efficient option -.you can do fancy categorisation later, but noting down "Costa, coffee and cake, £7.49" when you spend, is all you need.1
