Today I am grateful for the end of a busy week of work, for the initial triage nurse at a+e on weds who got me through to the x-ray department quickly, for not having broken my hand in my tussle with 2 sets of tree roots, for having a sense of humour, for a late bday present arriving from step dd1 - gf licorice YUM!!!! 🤤

Work today, busy so that was good - the time seems to pass faster!
Did a couple of loads of washing before work, both on quick programmes. Dried outside.
OH had done the hoovering downstairs while I was out o:)
Dinner from freezer - I don't bother with lunch for work. As my colleagues are always fasting / dieting it is easy to give it a miss on work days and save myself a few calories :D
Watered all the pots and much of the raised beds. It is hot and dry but with a cold wind if that makes sense. Anyway, it dries everything out.
DD2 has borrowed the car till tomorrow afternoon as hers has broken down. Her OH will fix it, but she needed to get the kids to swimming lessons etc tomorrow.
Grateful for a busy day at work and OH helping out (cos he lives here too!)

This has been a not-so-good day so far. Last night the cat wouldn't let me in my own bed. After five minutes of hissing and claws. I slid her over on the duvet so I could get in. This morning, she didn't want to let me out. There is only one way out of the bed as it is in a corner. Finally got up - early as I had to take my two roommates to Disneyland early, come back and pick up other roommate, take her to get breakfast at a fast food place, and then go to the book sale in time to make sure things were moving along and help get book carts in place. Lot of stress and pain in the process - I shouldn't be moving carts according to my doctor - but someone has to. Left for class - knitting and crocheting. Teacher announced that this would be the last class of the semester rather than next week. I was hoping to get more done. I will have to work on my sweater without her help for the next three weeks. Book sale is interesting as we have a lot of people coming in (the library lists an increase of 450 people on book sale day). Got back to the book sale in time to work most of the actual sale (usually miss the first 1/2 hour because of class). That part of my day was good. Got home to work on computer to find I have been shut out of FaceBook which is demanding a selfie - which I don't have as I don't have a cell phone. Will have to have someone else take one, but in the meantime I am sure they did it because of some of the things I have said about President Trump (all bad). Roommate G was supposed to make dinner - which he finally did but only after spending another 2 1/2 hours on the phone texting his "girl friend" that he has only ever communicated with on the phone at the same time saying he would be right in to fix dinner. So we didn't eat until 9 (we hadn't had anything since breakfast except a donut brought in by one of our board members).  Not good for a diabetic. One cat is currently having the zoomies and is jumping over the other two cats. Hope he slows down in time for us to go to bed as he will jump on us in bed if he is still running around. Only had 5 hours sleep last night. Will probably only have the same tonight as we won't go to bed until after midnight as I am taking care of another roommate (there are five altogether) who insists on staying up to see the news.

5 gratitudes for the day: 1. Like the people in Knitting class. 2. Many repeat customers for the book sale - some come every month. 3. Weather cooled off so day not bad. 4. Don't have to pick 2 roommates from Disneyland as they are coming home another way - good as I no longer drive after dark. 5. Roommate who got home at 12:30 last night is already in so I don't have to get up and let him in tonight.

Stayed at mum's Friday night, we went for a paddle (though had started to get a bit cooler by that point in the evening) & I treated us to an ice cream each.

Yesterday we went shopping in the morning. Heard there were Orca spotted not too far away, so me & DS1 went to look. No sign 😞 but we had an adventure to the beach. Spent the rest of the afternoon gardening. Watched a film together at night with a huge bowl of popcorn.

Cooler today, but dry. Walked 5 miles after breakfast, finished my book, then started to tackle a sewing frog. Unsuccessfully. Will need to ask for help how to sort it... Put it away for another day, did the ironing & listed some things to sell on local pages.

Grateful for fun at the beach, time in the garden, finishing another book
Use it up, wear it out
    Make do or do without!

If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
