I have lost track of NSDs as usual, but today has been one.Spent the morning moving compost into pots and troughs for the tomatoes, cucumbers etc. Little GS helpedThen OH helped me to move pots around the garden so we can get everything into its final position for the summer. Used up lots of home made compost but I will still need to buy more bagged stuff for repotting, modules etc.I would have liked to plant them all up, but my arm was hurting so I decided I had done enough for today. We made cauliflower and pasta in cheese sauce for dinner. There is some left for lunch tomorrow tooI must do some watering once the sun goes down a bit. Hoping for some rain but I bet we won't get any!Grateful for getting the garden set up for the summer, for little GS and the garden birds 'helping' me with the home made compost!6

A sleepy day and I'm creaky too. DS3 moved a heavy box into the kitchen and I've unpacked it. Washed my hair.
Grateful for sleep, getting things done very slowly, puzzles and books.7 -
@apple_muncher, I've got 6 in a box now, ready for a winter craft fayre & I've made 3 others for presents/commissions. I'll keep making them until I've used up the piece of fur fabric I was given. I'm using up wool & the stuffing from old scatter cushions, so clearing space in the shed too 😊 Finished knitting the body of gonk #10 tonight.
A scorcher of a day. Went to town & took mum shopping. Pleased there was no sewing for me to pick up, when I dropped completed stuff off, as I've still got a pile here to alter yet.
After dinner, I cut all the grass (we're in 1/4 of an acre, but not all is grass). DS1 asked if I wanted to watch TV with him, whilst he ate tea before work. He commented on the front garden looking good cos I'd cut the grass. We t back outside after tea & weeded a narrow border. Brought in the washing, which had totally dried on the line.
Grateful for time in the garden, a hot day, ice lollies & boozy slushies 😋Use it up, wear it out

Is Gonk #10 in THE CAGE yet? 🤣 watch out for a jail break
It has taken about 3 weeks, but I suddenly and unexpectedly have 2 germinated bean plants, they are all of one inch tall, don't really count as a plant yet. I had assumed they were dead, like all the others.
Right, off to start the day...

🤣 as yet gonk #10 has no nose, hat, arms, stuffing or feet, so won't be going very far yet!
Whoopee! Happy bean plants 😊 may you grow tall & produce an abundance!

A hot morning, walked 4.7 miles with DH, quicker than usual as had to collect DS3 from the bus. Went to the village car boot, but no sign of it, only young boys leaving after rugby training. So no money was spent 😀
Did lots of sewing this afternoon. The sun was still shining, but I told myself that I couldn't go out to the garden until I'd finished the bag full. Had an early tea, as DS1 working. Overcast after tea, but weeded a bit near the front door & tidied empty coal sacks away. Read my book in the bath, as I soaked my aching muscles.
Grateful for a nice walk, another bag of alterations done, time to garden & readUse it up, wear it out

Slightly overcast but the sun soon burned the cloud away.
Not a bad day workwise. Read my book when I got home, so I was in the room to stop cats tormenting each other, instead of going for a walk. But had got lots of steps in at school, so wasn't too disappointed.
Did 2 sewing jobs after tea, after unpacking my box of summer clothes & packing away my winter ones.
Grateful for lots of compliments about my dress (had eyed it up all last summer, then bought it in the sale), laughter, & that I wasn't the one that got soaked this afternoonUse it up, wear it out

Went to school with roommate Di. I drove so we could get home faster than waiting for the bus. Only one more class of our Excel class to go. I have the summer off - Di is going to try to get back in to Chime class. We managed to both finish our homework for this week in class. Just the final to take next week. Don't know yet what we will be able to take in the Fall as the schedule isn't out yet. But we will be there. Trying to keep the brain going. Came home and went to the Pain Management Clinic. I'm not managing the pain very well. They will be giving me another shot in the back next month. This will be number 4 - 3 unsuccessful so far. Trying it between a different set of vertebrae this time. Did tell me to avoid lying on my back or on my stomach (out flat) as this would just make things worse. Lying down hurts. Maybe I should do what my grandmother and great-aunt did and just get a reclining chair to sleep in.
This afternoon our maintenance helper came by. Helped me change a toilet seat, and worked on the backyard pulling weeds while we got the trash out. We discovered an electrical problem out by the pool, so will need to talk to the pool person who is supposed to come tomorrow. Our helper will be back as he is an electrician actually. We have his van in our driveway and he does our maintenance work for us including painting the outside of the house twice over the last 15 years.
I am thankful for the medical transportation that took me to the pain clinic, for them understanding what I meant about lying down and hurting more, for the young man (well, he's 40) helping us with the maintenance work, and for actually getting help from roommates to put out the trash and moving the trash bins out to the kerb.9 -
