Lovely day yesterday. We went to visit our elder daughter, who lives in a lovely place deep in the countryside. The dog came too, and had a lovely afternoon running about in their woods and fields. We didn't leave home till after lunch, so I had time to make a quiche (and half a dozen jam tarts with the leftover pastry bits), write and post a birthday card and sort out spare plants to take with us for DD. Also picked her some Cavalo Nero kale from the garden. We had dinner together, and she gave us eggs from her hens to bring back with us.It was after 10pm when we got back so really just time to have a cuppa before bed.Today is shopping day so I must finalise my list.Grateful for a lovely day and for seeing DD and family.3

Tired and unmotivated for the past 2 days after several nights of patchy sleep. A bit brighter today and have started a list of things that need doing. Have found my bank card (big +) - I heard it flip/ fall but couldn't find it. Rubbish collection is going slowly7

I have been shattered for some reason today, and haven't achieved much.Grateful though for rain this afternoon which meant I didn't need to water the garden.4

Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. One of my faves. I remember seeing it in the cinema in my early 20s, and being very grateful for boiled sweets to suck on to stop myself crying at the sad parts! I wasn't alone in crying - lots of sniffles and deep breaths around the place!Today I am grateful for enjoyable work, for veg, for a chat with a neighbour, for the extra light from cutting down the sycamore, for being able to nip home for lunch and to see Pip, for getting several more books in the series I'm re-reading from big sis for my bday yesterday .NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

I remember going to the cinema with a colleague to see The Green Mile. I had a tear running down one cheek, which I tried to discreetly dab with my cardigan, as I didn't know her well enough to know how she'd react! 🤣
I did an audible sob on the cinema, when watching Last Christmas, after discovering the twist. It hit home with me more, as DH has had a transplant, though kidney not heart.
An overcast start to the day, but it brightened up on the afternoon. Did my usual morning routine & made dinner for tiday & tomorrow. Will be on day 500 in Du0lingo tomorrow!
A great morning at work, received good feedback from the Support Teacher. Open afternoon for parents this afternoon, so was glad when the bell rang at 3.30!
Sewed up the body of my gonk before tea, then did a bag of repairs/alterations for a customer afterwards.
Grateful for time to relax, finding that the snippet of a song I remembered from my childhood wasn't something I'd imagined! & a now grown up pupil from a previous workplace still remembers me & has asked me to alter her prom dress (so that's 4 I've to do now!!)Use it up, wear it out

Lassie makes me cry (the one based on Greyfriars Bobby). I have to be feeling really strong to watch AI - I just feel so sad for the poor little robot boy. Then DS1 told me they'd actually made the ending happier, the book is much bleaker. I took my mother to the cinema on her 40th birthday to watch Herbie. It's one of her favourites but she was bothered about going to see it (she always borrowed a child when Bambi came to town - Disney movies could only be seen at the cinema then). However I pointed out people in the audience - that one little 5 y o boy didn't need to take both parents and two sets of grand-parents. Years later I took my children to see it and they warned me not to be embarrasing. We got to the part when Herbie goes off to throw himself in the river. One poor mother started crying her eyes out and her three children (roughly 4 to 10 years old) stood up and went to sit far away from her.
I worked very hard yesterday. I filled at least 5 small bags with detritus, then squashed them into the bin, putting the large cobble on top of them. I haven't finished but the couch is mostly clear (piles of various things are now in the cubby holes and on top) and I have a huge bag of bottles for refilling, things to be rinsed before going in the recycling, oddments of pots, loads of cutlery (sorry DS3), useful items and things I've been hunting for. Did as much as possible sitting down.
I worked until my ankles hurt so much I took my shoes off and then again until I unwrapped my ankle support (I also managed to do some ankle exercises). I have one tied up bag and 2 part-filled but here was no way I could get as far as the bins. Meanwhile DS3 came back down and dealt with 3 bin bags (theirs and they were loosely packed). No idea where he put them - no. 8 is still taking things to the tip in their van so possibly their bin was empty. Don't care - he sent 3 large bin bags down when I've been squeezing things in for the past week (black bin is collected every 3 weeks) and 'sorted' it when I declined to solve 'their' problem.
The third load of yesterday's washing needs to go out and I have one or possibly 2 more loads to tackle - towels, bedding and lots of fluffy socks. Slept very well ( took 2 painkillers), woke and had my morning pills before 5 am, woke again at 8.20 am (toilet break and breakfast - too wobbly/ hazy for anything else and have just had my shower and some food. Not moving from the couch until I feel like it - a lot of yesterday was forcing myself back onto my feet when I really didn't want to.
Grateful for keeping going in difficult circumstances, making space in full bins, simple food, taking breaks and resting

Nothing spent today, except lots of time in the garden. I planted up lots of pots with home grown bedding plants, and managed to squeeze a few into the borders too.I managed to pick up a L*dl veg box yesterday, the first one for ages. It contained lots of lemons, so I put most of them in jars in cold water in the fridge. They keep for ages that way. I learned this from someone online, and although I was sceptical to begin with, it really works. The box also contained 4 large avocados in good condition, some oranges, a cabbage and some lettuce. It was all in good condition, I didn't have to put anything in the compostMade a stir fry for dinner, to use up lots of fridge gravel.Picked, chopped and froze some rhubarb. Kept some sticks out to give to my work friend tomorrow.Grateful for yesterday's veg box and getting loads done in the garden, even if I am shattered now!5

Busy bees all round! 😀
500 day streak achieved on Du0lingo today 🎉 laughing at words that sound sweary, but actually aren't 🙊
A good day at work, spent quite a bit of time outside in the sunshine. Have done over 8,000 steps, so am happy.
Decided to have a night off from sewing. Pottered a bit inside, then went out & weeded a raised bed. Pleased I'd checked with DH about the next bed to be weeded, as he pointed out that I'd removed some small flower plants from the one I was working on. Oops! Found them in the bottom of my bucket & replanted them. Did a little knitting once inside, with a cosy blanket over my knees.
Grateful for reaching a language target, laughs at work, new customers, time in the garden & finding the weeded out plantsUse it up, wear it out

Another hot & sunny day up on our Scottish island. After a busy day at work, I went for a walk round the block before I started sewing. Got 2 jobs done & finished watching a series I'd started last night.
Grateful for going for a walk, like-minded people & feeling good in my new skirtUse it up, wear it out

Lots of hurting and aching bits so tried to make progress without making anything worse. Also used any bits I found that helped alleviate any symptoms (vix on my knees as it warmed and comforted them). One accidental spill which I've done about 90% clean up on. Lots of bags slowly filling with rubbish and recycling. Today is a bonus day as I was convinced that yesterday was Friday until nearly lunch time. Opened an ancient jar of pickled onions (a few tins and jars emerged from behind/ under pieces of furniture when things were moved out of the kitchen).
Several lists started, as things pop into my head (chalk board labels for storage jars which don't have them - not a need, but a would be useful to get some more and finish the job at some point).
Grateful for plodding on, relieving annoying symptoms whilst my body slowly reveals what's really wrong, catching up on domestic stuff like washing and washing up (I will have cutlery in my cutlery drawer)7
