A better day. Less pain, good sleep, my brain is clearer. Used a couple of items to alleviate minor symptoms. Very proud of myself for using a pack of floor wipes to clean the bathroom floor and the regular path across the kitchen to the shower room (one step to the right to go to the back door and 2 steps left to get to the fridge-freezer). Just moving them around with my feet and holding onto various items o furniture/ wall with both hands. Tiring, not quite perfect (hard bits need something more) but feels and looks clean. Had to have a little nap this afternoon but woke up feeling mellow.
Grateful for oddments meals, completing tasks (washing was brought in yesterday and most of the washing up was done), good books

Grateful for bus finally showing up to take roommate to Disneyland so I didn't have to drive (the traffic is horrible) - bus only 1 1/2 hours late; for peace and quiet for four hours; for getting a quick grocery store shop in; for seeing the "black cat with the white stripe down its back" before the cat did and being able to close the front door (so far just the one I think though I can't really stick around to see if we have one skunk, two, or a family of skunks - my roommate says he has seen three at the same time together); being able to get a key lime pie for my roommate for her birthday celebration; and a chocolate cream pie for later.7

Gratitudes: weight still going down, the man with the cleaver who was attacking a tree did not hack me to gobbits, that it did not rain on my walk, motivation is high, the ability to not take 'it' personally.

Woke up to rain showers. The first we've had since before Easter! It dried up during the morning though.
Me & DS1 headed to town. Picked mum up, dropped off & collected sewing, then went to a sale for charity. Got a couple of bargains. Met 2 people who were buying things from me, then did a big month's shopping in Lidl with my 10% off. Pinned a woman into some trousers before we came home.
Mammoth task of putting all the shopping away, but then I weeded a border, followed by a quick 2.5 mile walk with DS1. Had a film night & I knitted more of my next gonk. This one is beige & cream.
Grateful for bargains, saving money off my shopping, time in the garden & not sewing, film nightUse it up, wear it out

Had a nice, but exhausting day. Up early and visited 2 boot fairs, then home and DD2 dropped off little GS who wanted to stay with me for the day rather than go with his parents to the event his older sister was taking part in.Then we did LOADS of activities, so many I can't remember them all
But lego building, making cakes, gardening, scrubbing out the bird bath in the front garden, litter picking on the pavement and verge outside, sorting out and playing with some of my sales stuff (he likes all Grandma's funny things) .were among them. DD picked him up before I collapsed in a heap
Did a use up dinner of pork in a rosemary cream sauce, washed up and did the minimum of watering I could get away with. I will need to do it properly tomorrow.Grateful for time with little GS even if it did wear me out. He won't want to do these things when he gets older.7 -
Sounds like a fun filled day @DawnW. These will be times he'll remember as an adult 😀
Wet & windy here. DS1 wanted to go for a walk anyway. When we got to the chosen route, it was closed for maintenance. Walked round the outskirts of town instead & I showed him paths/routes he didn't know about. The rain stopped halfway round, so we'd dried out again, by the time we reached the car. 8.8 miles!!
Did a few smaller sewing jobs, as the mountain us starting to feel overwhelming again...
Finished the last bit of a gonk's head & watched an episode of a series to reward myself.
Grateful for showing DS new places, him saying he'd had a great time, my programme

I'd decided to use the 3 day weekend as a reset as there are so many things still to do, things where I'm falling behind and where there are 'extras' which have fallen by the wayside. I'm not asking for people to feel sorry for me but I do need to think about what things I need to get done, work out the easiest ways of doing things and re-introducing some sort of 'social life'.
I had a think about cinema club on Friday (missed several months and had trouble with the seats the last two times before that and had to leave early). I decided against going on Friday (less than half an hour before the start) but was interested in several films on over the weekend at the 'new' venue, where the evening film club relocated to. I didn't get to the community shop yet again. Realised that in addition to struggling with mobility, I'm actually reluctant to leave the house (been inside too long and now struggling to make myself go out).
I'm not doing great with food/ shopping (cost of living plus not going out and dependent on online shops). I'm also struggling with self maintenance 'extras'. My hair has needed washing for several days and I just haven't had the energy to do it - some days just getting in the shower was so hard. I think with this one I'm going to start having an evening shower in addition to my morning one. Some tasks are easier to do in the shower and dividing 'extra' tasks into 2 will help me catch up, especially as 'fun' things such as moisturising thoroughly are the first to get missed.
I have still been working on the floor rubbish. I've just taken out 4 small bags of rubbish and have 2 each of paper and bottles waiting. I'm being persistent and working in one direction and it feels like I'm getting somewhere. Washing up is reducing and I've settled on a final arrangement for the most important drawer (plates and bowls). Before bedtime I may be able to get more of the big boxes into the kitchen (maybe even away)
I've read a few 'spoon theory' articles and I'm trying to be more mindful and not beat myself up over how little I'm getting through.
I'm grateful for lots of books to read (got DS3 to bring another box from upstairs), making arrangements to see my grand-daughters and their parents next weekend, having ideas on what needs to improve and how I might get more done with less time and effort.7 -
Sounds like a lovely weekend planned next weekend @grandmanerd. You could always ask for help while they are around.I have also been reluctant to go out, so today I pulled on my big girl pants and drove over to the free plant swap / get rid of your plastic plant pots/ seed swap event at a local museum. Not been there before, drove past it before but never stopped. £4 on parking but got a cucumber plant, 2 tomato plants, and a houseplant. All un-named so they will grow up to be whatever they are meant to be in whatever colour and size they are meant to be. Mystery (freeish) plants.I hate driving through the city centre, we have a busy hospital, and ambulances fly in and out, and people drive like wazzocks, and there are 5 lanes to get completely wrong. It is sometimes like the Trafford Centre Roundabout if everyone else was on acid. There is horrific swerving and lane changing and racing. But, I did it, it was all of 3 miles away, and I swore an awful lot.I might name my tomatoes after expletives in revenge. They have to be called something, and I would love to write ****y -***** -*****ing-*****r on a white label.Lunch was leftovers from yesterday's curry, I still have stewed fruit and a jelly in the fridge that needs eating and I will pop down to the wading bird store as I have a tip-off that they have a lot of IT-SU stuff coming in and the boys love a stuffed pancake / bao or seven.Happy Bank Holiday Weekend Turtles - Enjoy it if you are not working, we don't get another one until 25th August when the schools go back after the long Summer Hols.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Up early to wake DS3. Got my Norwegian & exercises done, then cooked some pasta & made a sauce with red onion, yellow pepper & mushrooms in it.
Felt quite queasy all day, so went to bed for an hour when I got home. Pinned a customer into lots of outfits, then did a couple of sewing jobs, followed by the ironing & an episode of a series I'm enjoying (💛🗿) go by the colour & what the head is made from 🤣
Grateful for taking some rest, a beautiful rainbow, hugs from DS3 & DS1 sending me a nice message before he goes off in his travelsUse it up, wear it out
