Rest easy @cybertortoise & @grandmanerd. Welcome back @ditty1234.
Yesterday was NSD#2 a good day at work, followed by lots of knitting at night, finished the next gonk's body.
Today I went into town & took mum shopping. Very cold & windy here today, so did some sorting in my bedroom. One corner looks a bit clearer now. Did the ironing, then knitted a hat & nose for the gonk, whilst decluttering programmes off the box.
Grateful for great hilarity last night with a merry DS1 & his friend, for his friend accompanying him home so he didn't get off the bus in the wrong place, getting money off my shopping, some decluttering done in my bedroom & cherry blossom on my treeUse it up, wear it out

3rd laundry load in the machine. 2nd load on the line. 4 baskets folded and returned 🧺. 100000 odd socks lost and lonely, looking for a friend 🧡.
Politics and coffee ☕️ . Grrrrrrrr! and furthermore Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Enough said.
Walked to Wading Bird shop and back, bought a few bargains. £6 shop - can't complain!
Biryani for lunch, when I can be faffed to do it.
The back yard looks so much better after yesterday's efforts. I can use my skipping rope again. Yay. Will continue with that next week .
Lost 2lbs this week. Will continue with my efforts while DH is away in the land of bears and maple syrup. 2 more lbs and I will be merely ' overweight ' . It's a target to aim for.
It's a Marathon, not a sprint (sadly).
Enjoy your Bank Holiday Weekend!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

It has turned 'reet nippy' here now. I might even need to wear socks! The fence panels and storage boxes for the outside cupboard should arrive today. Delivery for the panels was only £4.50 so we took it, given that they wouldn't fit in the carI mowed the back yesterday - I was going to go with no-mow-May, but it was already rather high. So I'll start it from now.My exercise and me-time focuses (foci?) are going well so far (5 days in
)
I have rearranged my mammogram appointment and booked a cataract appointment. I have dental work arranged too. I also checked out my n'wide account recently and was pleasantly surprised with the amount in it.Ponyo. Love that film! My fave from the studio Ghibli people.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7 -

It's been dry all bank holiday weekend, but a cold wind. Went for a walk with DH yesterday & today after breakfast. Did sewing straight after on both days. Yesterday I did some weeding after tea, this afternoon I 'helped' DH move our stone bench that a shrub had grown over, then dead headed the daffodils, before heading into town. Dropped sewing off, then picked DS3, his massive toolbox, & his friend up then came home. Couldn't keep my eyes open, so had a 10 min nap. Crossed 2 things off my to-do list by emailing my auntie & making 2 birthday cards for this month. Did a bit of knitting.
Back to work tomorrow, but know one of my pupils is off, so I'll get some steps in at breaktime, walking round the school.
Grateful for seeing my first Swallow of the year, DS3 having a supportive friend, selling a couple of things on local pageUse it up, wear it out

Evening all.It has been cold and windy here too @Thrify_Taylor, and there was almost a frost last night. A bit warmer today. I spent the morning dead heading the Spanish bluebells in my front garden, in an effort to stop them seeding themselves. I know the bulbs spread as well. They are very invasive, but pretty in the Spring when they come into flower. I dig up any that make their way into the back, productive garden, but the front is a bit wild (it is a small patch with just various flowers for bees etc) and they do no harm there. Also dug out some dandelions and something that had died. I will have to find something tough to plant in its place as it has left quite a big hole. The soil out there is a horrible mix of clay and stones, so anything not bombproof wouldn't survive. Also did the weekly shop, so not a NSD. I think I am up to 3. I will have to check.6

Today I am grateful for having some work, for time with Pip, for my book, for seeing some amazing artwork being created by exam kiddies, for baked potatoes. Yum!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

An extra half hour in bed this morning, yippee! DS3 at college the rest of the week. Exercise & Du0lingo done before breakfast.
Had a good day at work, was also able to support a co-worker who was struggling.
Watched a programme with DS1 on my return home. Sewed the feet on to the gonk. After tea, decluttered more programmes off the box, & did 2 lots of sewing (3 items altogether).
Grateful for supporting a co-worker, able to walk round the playground at breaktime, using up things around the home eg toiletries, craft supplies, etcUse it up, wear it out

Well my kitchen is done. Mrs Builder came yesterday to paint the bathroom door (she wouldn't do it whilst Mr Builder was making sawdust). Couple of things being picked up today and she will arrange to have the skip taken away. I accused her of not wanting to go home (Mr Builder is fretful or just plain whiney). She has got him another appointment to sort his knee out.
I'm slowly moving things back into the kitchen, my ankle is aching and both feet were swollen by the time I took my shoes off last night. I've moved money from the old current account to the new and will pay the Builders today. I can't close the old account yet as the payment for my half of grandma's house has yet to be paid. I'm not sure why it's taking so long but I've handed it over to my brother and niece and don't want to take responsibility back. He brought me some paperwork and I have bills to pay on that property.
Filled 2 paper carrier bags with paper yesterday - not much to show for how long it took but clearing all the not needed paper will help dealing with the important stuff. Several old notebooks went - just a few wet or tatty pages left and finding it difficult to write on large papers. Hoping I still have a good notebook somewhere as I need that book of lists apple was recommending. Spent time on my newly delivered puzzle book and had a few naps.
Grateful for waking up excited and hopeful (had showered and had my pills before 6 am but still had a doze), for easy food (something else I need to get under control) and making progress.7 -
I have waved DH off to be clever in Canada. He was gone when I got back from dropping off DS4 at school so don't be imagining any soppy partings, or me reclining on a chaise longue clutching a handkerchief (grandmanerd has first dibs anyway)2 loads of laundry done (well, one is still doing for another 5 minutes, then I will go and hang them on the line. Every time I get to do this I think of the money I am saving by not using that s0dding dryer. DH is a fiend for just loading it up instead of using the line. In-laws have a hosepipe ban already.Changed DS4s bed, cleaned his room as I could not stand it any more. By cleaned, I mean I put all his stuff on top of his chest of drawers, stole the recyclables and dishes, and hoovered his floor. His window is open. It is much nicer in there now. Hoovered all the top floor.Weight loss continues. Today, (Matthew) I am out of the 'obese' category- yay! go me! so I am merely overweight (I prefer to think of myself as under-height).I have discovered that using a tin of peaches when stewing rhubarb means not having to use any extra extra sugar - I know there is sugar in the fruit juice/syrup from the tin, but it was just going to go down the drain otherwise, and I am sure I would have put much more sugar in than was in the peach liquid. I now have lots of rhubarb and peach compote to have with yoghurt. Yay! It is not a rhubarb crumble, but it is rather nice in its own way.Plan for the rest of the day -More stupid laundry,Clean the bathroomClean 2 more bedroomsHoover down to the bottom stepVisit the community fridge for some free fruit and vegPossibly detour into the Big Orange Wh*rehouse for a new tomato plant - one of mine bent and snapped yesterday, so I just buried it deeper in panic. I do not think this solution is going to work outside of a Diznee movie.Wish me luck!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
