I think it has been discussed many times, please be kind to me.
An item that was listed for a very long time (buy-it-now + best offer) sold last week. To my surprise it was converted to Simple Delivery (bike accessory). It was listed to be send with Royal Mail, but Simple Delivery came with Evri label (there was no other options). Long story short, I managed to get it to an Evri parcel shop eventually. But now Evri appears to be struggling to deliver it - the tracking says they have made 2 delivery attempts - one on Thursday, another on Friday... Assume they cannot deliver it again for whatever reason, what will happen? The parcel will be returned to me and I will have to refund the buyer in full?
Never have had such issues before (and never used Evri in 15+ years on eBay).
I use Evri almost exclusively. They often fail delivery because of a 'unable to get within geofence' error which means they can't get within the delivery location or they can't be bothered to. Usually gets delivered the next day which can include Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks, finger crossed. After our local Evri (then Hermes) courier thrown an item over a 6 feet fence, I promised to stay away from them.
You can get more detailed tracking if you go to the Evri website with the delivery postcode.

This what I did, and this is how I know that the delivery has been attempted twice.

A while back in the thread someone asked whether Royal Mail on SD still offered a free collection service, and it looks like they do.

It appears you must print a label, but I haven't gone to the final conformation screen- but there's no mention at all of a 30p charge as there is on the RM site.
I've just sold an SD item with RM and it shows like this- with collection bookable on the next screen.

Getting so frustrated with this now. Listed a lot of items which are postcard like, (fit in an envelope), used custom postage and they've converted them all to Simple postage and want me to charge £2.70 (or take the hit myself) for a £2.00 item, which would be normally be covered by a stamp. It won't let me put in the dimensions/weight or change back to custom Am I best just giving up?

No don't give up.  Postcards are allowed under custom postage.  I listed a few at the weekend.  See my list above, postcards are allowed under collectables.

Perhaps it depends on where you are, but my local delivery office charge 30p per item collected, even if it is an SD item.

Thanks, I'll try a couple of different categories and see what happens

Mine were showing a charge for the very few RM SD items I get, but yesterday was the first time this charge did t show.

EBay are constantly fiddling and tinkering with SD it’s hard to know what the current state is sometimes.

I tried listing an item today using custom delivery (I need parcels collected) but that option isn’t there, only Simple Delivery.

    Help please.

If it is in a compulsory category then you have no choice other than to use special delivery - originally SD was going to be compulsory across the boards, then they introduced some exemptions. Unfortunately unless your item is within one of those exempt categories you are stuck.

However, the RM option in SD allows for collection - you will need to print your own label though.

    It’s clothes.

Printing my own label is no problem.

When I go to the SD option, which does show RM, I can’t get any further, no matter where I click it seems to be stuck.
