I was relisting today and was able to use custom postage on my LL items under £10 in eligible categories. I did have some other LLs under £10 to relist, but they weren’t in eligible categories and they did go as SD with no custom postage available.

    What's happening to SD/Custom postage??

I decided to end a few of my listings and relist them with new photos and changed some wording.  Used same category and same price.  They were all listed 2 months ago as SD postage of £2.70 and  3 day dispatch.  When I am relisting them, I noticed they had all changed to 2 day dispatch and custom postage of £2.75!

Tried to do similar on my husband's account.  All the listings which were less than 100g, less than £10 and were previously listed with custom postage of £1.55 - now I they all have to be SD, there is no option for 100g and dispatch has to be 2 days!  I looked at other private sellers selling the same items and they have listed with postage of £1.55 - so can't be SD.  And they are in the same category.
The custom postage and packet size of 100g has totally vanished.

    I have listed an item today using;
    Switch to advanced options

I was able to select RM Large letter at 1.55/2.60.

Is your husband's account established for selling?
Yes, husband's account is established for selling.  He has been selling for over 4 years now.

Maybe that is the reason.  Perhaps the categories are not right.  I will have to find that list.

    Opting out

From 15 April, Simple Delivery is the only delivery method available for private sellers who list eligible items on eBay.co.uk. We'll be introducing this change in phases over the coming weeks.

The option to opt out and select Custom postage instead will only be available for letter-sized items in the specific categories below that are priced £10 and under. The £10 limit applies to the item price only and excludes the Buyer Protection Fee.

Thanks, that clarifies it for me, I have a collection of DVDs to sell and have a stash of stamps to use up (son in law works for RM).

Has anyone had any [unfortunate] experience of an item going missing, or not delivered while using Simple Delivery?
Just wondering what eBay do? Do they just refund the buyer and the seller the full value of the item?

I've also listed some expensive items where I would have used SD, but eBay still provides the Tracked48 option as the delivery method?! Considering its via eBay, I'm assuming it would still be covered by them?

I’ve only had one loss and eBay just refunded the buyer  and released the original funds to me, no issue at all.

This Simple Delivery is still confusing me.

I had done a lot of listings about 2 months back when SD was not in full force.  I listed them with custom postage of large letter size 100g with postage of £1.55.
I ended one listing and tried to relist it but now it had to be SD only with postage of £2.70.   Too late to do anything about it as it had been ended.

Next listing, I did not end but tried to revise and a message comes up in blue at the top "This listing has been updated to be posted with Simple Delivery and the dispatch is now 2 days".   I left the listing without revising it.   So now it shows the original postage of £1.55.   So if it sells, will ebay send me label for £2.70 even though I am charging £1.55?  I logged out of my account and searched for that same item and it is showing postage of £1.55.

Just wanted to know that I will not be out of pocket will I?

I hope the above makes sense!

I am trying to list a pair of dvd discs (no case), under 100g, price £4 + £1.55 postage but eBay keeps saying Simple Delivery will be £2.70.
