I am trying to list a pair of dvd discs (no case), under 100g, price £4 + £1.55 postage but eBay keeps saying Simple Delivery will be £2.70.
Managed to list with custom postage in the end, previously I'd tried via "sell one like this", starting listing from a blank listing form seems to have worked.

If Im selling an expensive item (value £350) under simple delivery I can just select the weight and it chooses the postage - which is most likely Tracked48 and not covered to the full value.
I wanted to choose RMSD, but it seems I have no option to choose the courier (Ive turned Evri off so its just RM!)

Do I need to worry about this lack of compensation cover with simple delivery, or do eBay cover it?

That amount is covered by the SD compensation limits anyway isn’t it?

It is - so I guess eBay take the hit themselves if a RM48 label is used on a £700 item, for instance?

That’s one of the benefits they were pushing with SD , as long as seller has tracking showing item has been accepted by the courier then it becomes eBay responsibility. They took responsibility for my one that was lost, although admittedly that was nearer the £20 mark.

Do we need to keep receipts for posting items when using SD?
when I drop (EVRI & RM) off at post offices I just get a paper receipt , but in some garages and newsagents I have to use the EVRI machine to produce a label, then drop it off at the counter, the shop assistant will scan it and ask me if I want a receipt, if I say yes I get handed the Evri tablet and am told I need to type in my e-mail address, which is a bit a of a pain as it will take at least 20-30 secs to do it and theres always a line of people waiting to be served. I did type in my email a few times, but have since given up doing it, but I have yet to see any emailed receipts from them anyway?

I think it has been discussed many times, please be kind to me.
An item that was listed for a very long time (buy-it-now + best offer) sold last week. To my surprise it was converted to Simple Delivery (bike accessory). It was listed to be send with Royal Mail, but Simple Delivery came with Evri label (there was no other options). Long story short, I managed to get it to an Evri parcel shop eventually. But now Evri appears to be struggling to deliver it - the tracking says they have made 2 delivery attempts - one on Thursday, another on Friday... Assume they cannot deliver it again for whatever reason, what will happen? The parcel will be returned to me and I will have to refund the buyer in full?
Never have had such issues before (and never used Evri in 15+ years on eBay).

I use Evri almost exclusively. They often fail delivery because of a 'unable to get within geofence' error which means they can't get within the delivery location or they can't be bothered to. Usually gets delivered the next day which can include Saturday and Sunday.

Thanks, finger crossed. After our local Evri (then Hermes) courier thrown an item over a 6 feet fence, I promised to stay away from them.

You can get more detailed tracking if you go to the Evri website with the delivery postcode.
