I find bad food days and bad days go together too. I did actually force myself to get off the sofa and cook something this evening and feel better for it. Not more productive - I feel mean leaving the dog on his own downstairs if I go upstairs to sort stuff out, and the cats have abandoned us and are out terrorising the wildlife).

My kitchen is very badly designed - it's a decent size but everything is in the wrong place, and the sink and drainer are right on the very end of the run of units with the DW below the drainer - which results in far too much clutter building up there and the same issue with breaking things. Mind you, I also have bad days where I just drop stuff because I'm so tired.

Wow I could never ask for something back I’d given to a friend
Sounds like she’s seen what you’re using it for and thought ‘Oh I’d never thought to use it for that’ and wants it back

That is amazingly rude!  I wouldn't even consider asking for something back, I'd just buy another one.

I'm with you on the low mood/bad eating days.  Also I have to exercise in the morning otherwise I don't do it.

Yes, what a cheek! If you usually exchange presents with this friend, could you find another item like yours and give it to her then

Dia, wow, the sheer effrontery!  That is outrageous  and said friend needs to be down graded  to an acquaintance if they can't see that😳 Total bad manners and there's no way she would get that back from me.  I've concluded you are just too nice for your own good! Never be afraid to say no,  I would serve that with a portion of side eye myself,  but I'm sure you can be more tactful (but don't forget it's yours now). I mean,  it's like someone coming to your home and just saying outright they want something so you should give it? No, nope and njet😁

    Thanks everyone :)

Good to know it isn't just me thinking this way! But...The thing is it isn't buyable. It is something she already had. I'm thinking it is a cheek, but it was also in her family and the daughter is now asking for it not knowing she gave it to me. It isn't a valuable (money wise ) item by the way. I would never accept a valuable gift in the first place.

Anyway, chicken and veg in the slow cooker

Haha @Tresinia511 just seen your post as I was posting too. It made me laugh! And I have concluded I am 'too nice' too. Although not that nice as I seriously don't want to be!!

  • Maybe your friend needs to think before she offloads stuff she doesn’t want.  Maybe she should just explain to the daughter that it has already gone.
