Thanks everyone. Ok, ok, it is true my book addiction is not a very terrible affliction. BUT, space is limited. I think I will be ok with bigger bookcases...I will concentrate on decluttering handbags instead
I am enjoying my new painting
Yes, @Tresinia511 the artists is now a friend too
So, this weekend can be described as SPENDY...I bought...- a very filthy angle poise lamp that was overpriced but I wanted it and it help with my book addiction as I can read more easily. I will spend this week cleaning it up...
- food shopping for myself and guests. Lots of bargains, best of 15 free range eggs use by 10/8 for £1. I have two lots, so I see omelette night, frittata, and I might do a cake too...
- a table mirror £15 for spare room as I've noticed the guests are in need of one
- plants from out local market which is advertised from 10-4. Lots of the good plants were gone and I realised they get there at 7.30! I will be earlier next month but got a beautiful white butterfly bush and a few other plants...cost £32. Without transport or asking for lifts, this stall will be how I build my garden. I walked there and back three times until my purchases were home!
- a duvet cover from JL reduced from £60 to £12!
I discovered a woman at a fair. I did not buy, but she had half whiskey barrels and big architectural things that I want to think about as planters. She was reasonably priced. She will deliver adapt things for free. I will take a walk there tomorrow
Guests were away and are due back in 20 minutes. Salmon salads and boiled potatoes for them
Friend started texting again. I told her I could not meet, so she pushed on whether I want to spend time with her in the future. I was honest and said I was fine how things are (no contact). I felt relieved...She texted again after that but I have ignored her and she has stopped now
So, a good few days, although spendy and busy
I hope you have had a good weekend too

Sounds like a good weekend"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Thanks @Tresinia511 it was a busy weekend. Today I am still in my dressing gown so that makes up for it
Haha @weenancyinAmerica that probably beats our little library!
Thanks @jwil it was indeed a good weekend
It is very dark here as rain is expected, so I will be staying very local today. I spent the morning cleaning the lamp. it still looks a bit beaten up, but its functionality is lovely.
I have 2 friend's birthdays next week. I would like to buy and send gifts within the next few days
I started my day by moving some funds, as I have a tiny amount in my account. At least I'm not overdrawn, but going down to a few pounds at any time has a level of stress I don't need. I want to create a permanent buffer zone of £100 in my account. I keep trying this and when I have achieved it, I feel more financially relaxed. I want it back, so will keep trying on this one.
TO DO:- buy and post gifts for friends
- pay a bill
- contact two ironworkers/blacksmiths
- a walk
- letter to my friend
I hope your week starts well
