Living Large, on a Small Income, by the Sea.

Just paid the total requested for the CC. I was sooo tempted not to pay part and keep part to spend on treats! I feel good for having paid the whole balance. The treat will be no debt. Once I am out of debt I have enough income to budget if I follow my budgeting inspiration @Skint_yet_Again
So, this month will not be bursting with treats but I have promised myself membership of my cinema, which will pay for itself after 14 trips. Plus I have £5 less to find for each ticket out of my monthly income. I am also going to the garden centre. Now the alley isn't full of rubbish I have been wanting to use my garden. Just two big containers and a few plants. Then I will power wash the slabs and sweep up. I want a big cover for over the bin and over a storage upright green bin. I have a stool and a chair so that will do for this summer. I will put that spending on my cc then pay in full next month again, although the balance will be lower so way less painful!
I have seen a few moths, the tiny clothes moths! I have those pheromone traps laid around the house. Today, I will buy some storage bags and moth sheets to put away my winter coats and jumpers. I've got clothes all over the place so they will help me tidy up...
My house guest continues to be fine and no bother at all. Tonight it will be Spanish omelettes as I have to defrost a packet of bacon for her packed lunches at the weekend when she has trips away. I have 4 more packets of YS bacon so will use one sandwiches and to add to veggies for tonights omelettes. Both bread and bacon are YS so really pleased with that. I've done very well with my food budget of late.
I will take a walk this morning to buy the storage bags and moth sheets. I will walk along the seafront. It is a bit blowy today so nice weather to walk in.
Then this afternoon I will buy my cinema membership and enjoy the Salt Path
I hope everyone survived the week intact

Aside from currently feeling unsettled you're still doing so well and your home / location sounds perfect for you.
With PB's just buy as and when you can. I've had a few wins and still don't have £600 in it.
One passive income is working for you and accidents do happen. Have you got a savings pot to cover replacing/ repairing guest related items or incidents?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -

That is what this summer has been about as @Ordinary_Yet_Uniquen previously mentioned it is a good idea to keep my eyes open for other income streams and I am doing that. And, the house guests isn't a passive income stream...it is very much an active one

So, I joined the cinema yesterday. I've been wanting to do that since I moved in. The little independent cinema is under 5 minutes walk from my house and one of the reasons I wanted to live in where I am.
I bought the storage bags and added to my moth prevention armoury. This morning I have hoovered and packed away winter coats. My woollen scarves will be washed tomorrow with a cardigan then they can be stored too
I have a friend coming to take me to the garden centre in a few hours.
I have lots of nice salad from last week's organic box and a few YS salmon fillets so I will boil some potatoes and that will be our meal this evening. The organic box is quite generous and definitely enough for a few weeks. I froze my broad beans and have already used the pods for stock then soup.
I might treat myself to a paper, but these days I look at the front page and it is so depressing I have tended to swerve my once weekly treat.
I lost my toolbox but found it again when I tidied my bedroom. It was buried under clothes!! Whoops...
I hope everyone is having a good SaturdayIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Great plan to join independent cinema. What a life treat they are. There is one where my son lives in Hertfordshire and it shows such great films. Also, a trip to the garden centre is as good for the soul as soup😁, was there last weekend and now my little garden is full of colour. Salve for the eyes4

Well done on clearing the card! Cinema membership sounds a real treat and a bargain too."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3

If you have room in the freezer, you could put the weighted blanket in there (wrapped in plastic) for a while to deal with the straggling insects/eggs. I'm not sure how long it takes though. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?3

I seemed to go very slowly this morning. I was clearing my bedroom, then I had a bath. I made some lunch and before I knew it, it was time for my friend to pick me up to go to the garden centre. I bought a houseplant and a lovely verbena plant too.
I cooked for my guest and we ate together and had a chat. A few phone calls and the evening has gone!
Tomorrow morning I have my yoga class that I am looking forward to. It is gentle yoga and such a nice group of people too
