What a great thread. Been on MSE for ages but didn't spot this one. Please can I have a lunch club number to to my Official DFW Nerd Club number

My OH and 4 kids were spending £12 per day on school meals and canteen sandwiches.

We have been rigorous on making the kids lunches on £7 per week and nearly, but not quite as rigorous on ourselves typically spending £5 per week on us.

Together with India Knights and Nerys Jones diet book (low carb, lot of variety), we have saved pounds (and lost pounds as well - nearly a stone each in 6 weeks for me, my OH and eldest DD)

    Good luck all.
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

Am getting worried about myself. The things I do in the name of saving money. Someone bought a magazine, read it in the lunch room, then binned it. It's one of those gossip £1.50 jobs so I decided I'd get a free read and went to fish it out of the bin. It had teabags on it so I merely ripped the first three pages (soggy teabags) and went about my business. Shameful!

Monday £0 - bagels with ham & coleslaw and hula hoops. No can so had water to save a bob
Tuesday - 95p - cheese rolls with ham & coleslaw, can Irn Bru (95p), hula hoops

Ah, nothing wrong with that Fletch! :D It'd be unthinkable to throw it away in our office, we've got a big pile of magazines that people have brought in and then left for whoever wants to read them.

Having a good week so far with lunches..

Mon 25th - £0 (leftover turkey, mushroom & ricotta pasta, snacks of banana and crackers)
Tue 26th - £0 (leftover moussaka, bread, banana, crackers)
Wed 27th £0 (leftover stir fry & noodles, banana, grapes.. I've eaten nearly a whole 500g box of grapes today, that may not be good for me! :o)
Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012.

great thread. ironically i found it whilst i was chopping on a foot long Meatball Mariana from Subway. but i used a voucher so only spent £4.20 when i would normally have spent £6.20!!! the amount i spend on lunch is shameful. its a combination of working in central london where most food places are so expensive, and being to lazy to make my own lunch and take it in with me!

    so far this week:

monday: Sub of the Day and a box of blueberries - £4.99
tuesday: a salad from Eat and a tub of raspberries: £4.70
    wednesday: meatball marinara - £4.20

so i'm going down, but not good enough! thats £13.89 in 3 days. shameful :(
Aiming to pay off £50,312.94 in less than 3 years - Starting from December 2015
Current debt total: £32,756.02 (as of 1st March 2018)
Date Free Date Aim: Summer 2019 (8 extra months needed :( )

Aww Maz!! He's a lovely boss - asked if i'd like a can earlier on, but I've been drinking squash all day (half price in Tesco - Robinsons Barley! 60p!)

Today: leftover spag bol, apple, squash. Cost: 60p for bottle of drink, but will last a while x

Hi, am sure someone will sort you out with a number soon.

That's a huge saving you're making! Have you worked out what you'll have saved if you carry on for a year?
