OMG I'm just basking in smugness at the moment, I've saved over £17 in 8 days :j I'm not actually saving the money but hey, the numbers still add up and I know how much money I would've had to find!
What I find amazing is that I have always hated taking sarnies for lunch (or hot dogs or tortillas etc.) but since the £2.47's have been added up everyday (what I was spending on buying lunch at school), ham sarnies taste nicerDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

What she said ^^
I started doing this on my own last year but failed miserably
Please can I join?
I'm not counting today as I don't want to talk about how much I spent at lunch:rolleyes: but in my defence, I've only just seen this thread. And technically, since it's nearly 1am on Thursday 17th, that was yesterday!
If you give me a number I promise to create a sig and update it even if I'm embarrassed because I've had a blowout. :A

this week
Mon 14th - Left over shepherds pie, and yoghurt from home. Brought some fruit and a packet of biscuits too to avoid spending on snacks.
Tues 15th - Home made soup, bread and a yoghurt... will admit to 60p buying a donut though (oh the shame of it!!!!!!!)
Edit at 23.33 Just have to admit to going out in afternoon and buying a bag of crisps and some grapes (half price, yellow stickered) £1.65
First spend of the week, on work snacks outwith my regular food shopping. I did think about passing it off as food shopping and not fessing up but would've only been kidding myself! And grapes will do tomorrow too!!!
Wed 16th - Ainsley's cous cous and some smoked sausage, plus a yoghurt. (grapes and crisps for snack in afternoon, bought grapes yesterday, crisps from home) Yum yum yum to the cous cous etc! I would recommend this to anyone without a micro as cous cous only needs boiling water and is flavoured already tis mega tasty! £0 spent!
Thu 17th - Another no spender for me! Getting the hang of this now! Ham, cheese n pickle sandwich, into the toastie machine at work. Plus a cupa (allegedly)soup (bleuch!) and a yoghurt. Plus yesterdays crisps and grapes!
Yay me!!! it's got to be better for your waistline too to bring your own lunch, as shop sandwiches are laden with mayo... although what i would give for a chicken caesar wrap! I'll need to do some creative shopping as running out of ideas for next week.I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Just read post for first time. Im going out today to buy a diary and keep track of everything Im spending, the majority is just wasted on food at luchtimes etc & coffee's during the day. Im new to the forum and everyone have great ways of saving money.
Good luck to everyone with their challenges.
Would some please tell me about - sealed pot challenge & change jar etc as Im wanted to stop spending and save to tackle this debt0 -
I have a confession
I went to meet a friend for lunch, and spent £3 in a coffee shop, even though i brought lunch in with me!
Im going to blame my friend, and friends in general!Otherwise I will have to admit to it beign my fault.
So my new total is £3 spend:( But on the plus side thats since the new year back at work, where normally it wouldbe like £40 plus by now!£2 Savers club £0/£150

I cracked today, couldn't get out of bed into the cold dark this morning in time to make my sandwiches so just though 'sod it' and bought a sandwich and a bag of crisps. If I wasn't so busy at work I might have a guilt pang or two, but I've barely had time to think about it to be honest. Will bring something in tomorrow definitely. Total today £2.24.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
