Hypno, do you work in a school? Our Bread and Butter pudding at school is amazing! So is the choc pudding, the spotted d i c k, the oaty apple crumble, the lemon pudding, etc etc

No, I work in a prison, but the puddings are a bit school like....YUM YUM!!!!!

Anyway, another day survived without spending at work!! I took in my grapes and celery for snack and a home made salad for lunch.

tomorrow I get to eat in the Mess because I go straight to college after work. Pudding will be the order of the day, then back to healthy eating/no spending on Wednesday!!

  • Quote Jo1972 Has anybody used one of those Thermos Food Flasks, the short stubby ones that have a spoon attached for taking hot food to work? I have seen them in Sainsburys and my DS wants one for school but I'm wondering a) if they actually keep the food warm, b) what to put in it and c) if he'll make a complete mess (he's 5!).

I can then give him left overs which is a bit more exciting than a sarnie

I too would like to know if anyone has given one of these baby's a shot?

    So, to lunch..............

Monday 14/1 - £0 2 x bagels with chicken tikka from home, water
    Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)
  • OK, another Monday - jeesh, what happened to the weeknd?! Anyway, made "egg in a cup" sandwiches on wholewheat bread for lunch, and had some fruit today, so no spend again! (part of my job entails meeting clients, sometimes in cafes - as was today, so bought a cup of tea but amen't counting that as will get it back on expenses).

    Mon 14 Jan - £0

Also, week after next will need picnic for plane. Any ideas folks, especially as we're staying in a hotel the night before????

If you're taking food on the plane don't wrap it in tin foil, sets off the metal detectors, rep friend did it, got searched  Just thought I'd mention it just in case

    this week
Mon 14th - Left over shepherds pie, and yoghurt from home. Brought some fruit and a packet of biscuits too to avoid spending on snacks.
Tues 15th - Home made soup, bread and a yoghurt... will admit to 60p buying a donut though (oh the shame of it!!!!!!!)
Edit at 23.33 Just have to admit to going out in afternoon and buying a bag of crisps and some grapes (half price, yellow stickered) Total spent £1.65 First spend of the week, on work snacks outwith my regular food shopping. I did think about passing it off as food shopping and not fessing up but would've only been kidding myself! And grapes will do tomorrow too!!!

This challenge is definately affecting my way of thinking, not that it worked start of last week! But it helps that it's a long time since and to payday, so don't really have it to spend anyway!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

I can't believe how well I'm doing! In just 7 work days I've already saved £14.82. £2.47 a day doesn't sound a lot but wow, doesn't it add up!! :D

Ham sarnie today and fruit :A
