  • The saving's really do add up. I've just started doing my monthly budget planner this year (on to month two) and seeing what I can afford to spend and how much less I have to play with if I waste it all on lunch... it is staggering!!

Feeling pretty good about this week and confident I won't spend today. Looking at my totals I seem to struggle on a Wednesday... so I'll try and bring lots of tasty food from home tomorrow!

  • Cheese-and-chutney sarnies for me today and I even brought some crisps in from home so I don't succumb when I'm out in town at lunchtime. Double-whammy today as I'm attending an event this evenin for work where I'll be able to fill my face with quiches and cakes - yay!

  • How totally weird that I get resentful at having to spend ANY money on lunch :o . Used to be I would happily hand over £4.20 to the sandwich shops all around me. Not now!

Monday 14/1 - £0 2 x bagels with chicken tikka from home, water
Tuesday 15/1 - £1.80 (diet coke x 2 - 1 was yesterday, forgot) HM ham sandwiches and part of a baguette with chicken in pesto left from a meeting (and still the hormones rage)

    Hi,
Is my first week on my new budget so definitely need to be in on this!! Will include breakfast too and that's a spending temptation for me when at work!

Had my budget obliterated on Saturday due to having to contribute to two unexpected cabs !!!

Have £8 in my purse for the week!!! ....

Monday: Bowl of porridge for breakfast (from box on my desk) Brought in curry and rice from last night for lunch (No spend here but off to Lidl at lunchtime to buy bread and fruit for the rest of the week)
Keep up the good work everybody !!

Tuesday: Spent £6.14 on bread, cheese, apples and a birthday card - had porridge for breakfast and brought cheese sandwiches in for lunch. £1.86 left until Friday !!

  • Having the worst day  ... so off to buy a bag of mini eggs!:o

I have a pound in my purse which I saved for a mid-week treat (rather than put in in the sealed pot... but I put a fiver in there this week so I don't feel guilty about that!) but I won't spend any more than that. Nearly pay day and I want to see if my overdraft debt has decreased... I don't think it will have but my credit card debt is lower.

    Part of the Furniture
    this week
Mon 14th - Left over shepherds pie, and yoghurt from home. Brought some fruit and a packet of biscuits too to avoid spending on snacks.

Tues 15th - Home made soup, bread and a yoghurt... will admit to 60p buying a donut though (oh the shame of it!!!!!!!)
Edit at 23.33 Just have to admit to going out in afternoon and buying a bag of crisps and some grapes (half price, yellow stickered) £1.65
First spend of the week, on work snacks outwith my regular food shopping. I did think about passing it off as food shopping and not fessing up but would've only been kidding myself! And grapes will do tomorrow too!!!

Wed 16th - Ainsley's cous cous and some smoked sausage, plus a yoghurt. (grapes and crisps for snack in afternoon, bought grapes yesterday, crisps from home) Yum yum yum to the cous cous etc! I would recommend this to anyone without a micro as cous cous only needs boiling water and is flavoured already tis mega tasty! £0 spent!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
    (it's part of my charm!)
  • Pasta from home again for me today! Zero spent so far this week so I'm going to see if I can make it the whole week!
