I'm going out for my lunch today...... oh the shame of it! But it's only 1 day this week instead of all 5!
I think i may allow myself 1 day off a week, even if it's only a shop bought sandwich.... otherwise i will feel like i'm denying myself entirely.... and what's the point of working if you never ever treat yourself.I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Well I didn't quite manage my no spend week - I need to sort myself out with a suitable savoury alternative to cheap crisps, although it could be much worse, a whole week of canteen dinners would be about a tenner.
Mon 14th Jan - £0 (soup, crackers, cold leftover lamb, salad)
Tue 15th Jan - £0.10 (damn crisps! lunch - baked potato, bolognese sauce)
Wed 16th Jan - £0.10 (crisps!!! lunch - soup, pitta bread, cheese, pickle)
Thu 17th Jan - £0.25 (guess what, crisps!.... lunch - soup & pitta bread)
Fri 18th Jan - £0 (staying away from the crisps!!! leftover pasta with spinach & ricotta sauce)
Total for week £0.45
Total so far £3.06Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Yay - I've been strong today! No spend :j
Week's review:
Jan 14th: £0 - Homemade soup pulled out of the freezer last night.
Jan 15th: £0 - soup... again!
Jan 16th: 89p - mini eggs. I don't even feel guilty; I needed them!!
Jan 17th: £1.26 - mini eggs and crisps. I know, I know... silly girl!!
Jan 18th: £0 - Yay - back on track and lowest weekly spend so far this year! (on lunch at least!)
weekly total = £2.15! Not too bad. Would have used to spend more than that every day! Might aim for 100% no spend next week...Lightbulb moment Oct 2007

Wasn't on yesterday (nothing to hide though).
Monday 14/1 - £0 2 x bagels with chicken tikka from home, water
Tuesday 15/1 - £1.80 (diet coke x 2 - 1 was yesterday, forgot) HM ham sandwiches
Wednesday 16/1 - £2.50 (12 diet coke from Farmfoods) left-over-last-night (pasta and smoked salmon
Thursday 17/1 - £0 - bagels & ham for later construction (slept in again)
Friday - 18/1 - £0 - ham sandwiches, crisps diet coke above.
I can't believe this, £4.30 spent in 10 working days!! Am amazed at myself. Ordinarily I would be c£4.20 per day so that would be £42.20 so I've effectively spent 10% of what I would have spent. I just love sums like that :rotfl:
Last Friday I had a bit of a flakey because I hadn't spent and when I got home I discovered DH had blown £11 on chip shop. Not this week though. In the freezer I found M&S pork sausages, cabbage medley and posh mash which we had tonight for tea. Better than a rotten chip shop any day!Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
