Hi superpup, I wouldn't count thursday in your lunch log budget, stick it in your grocery budget. So you didn't have a pathetic start afterall :D

    Thanks for the get out!

I'm off to update my sig to take out Thursday's. :j

Not going shopping til tomorrow now - forgot the rent goes out of my debit card account:( so tomorrows lunch is gonna be something interresting from the cupboards!

Im not sure what we are counting as "rules" for this challenge, but personally I dont include anything that I have brought for the week from my grocery challenge - only additiona food brought at lunchtime specifically for lunch/snacks at work.

I'm the same Lindsay... although i don't have a grocery budget but i'm sure if you had a set grocery budget it would probably be affected.

I have trouble telling the others in my house that it's not for eating, it's for my lunch when they go into the fridge for something to eat!

:rotfl: I don't think it is a get out SP (IMO :D) as you've got to eat something for lunch and that has to come from somewhere and buying a slice of ham and a roll to make your own at lunchtime is the same as doing a big shop at the weekend and buying it in advance! Obviously if you keep a grocery budget then it will be affected, slightly, but I thought the whole point of this challenge was to stop the extortionately priced bagettes and cappuchinos!

Well, I've let myself down terribly and it's not even 8am :( just made DS's packed lunch and buttered my bread and was about to make us chicken sarnies, made DS's and I just really didn't fancy a chicken sarnie so shoved some choc spread in my bread to take for brekkie () and now have nothing for lunch and I have to leave in 10 minutes for work so don't have time to make anything. There are no shops near where I work so it's school dinner or nothing.

Now, do I go for a full monty, hot dinner and pud for £2.47 or a salad and jacket and nowt else for £1.82?

Very disappointing start for me :(

  • Jo, at least if you go for the cheaper option you're still doing your bit by the lunch log challenge! Let us know what you decided!

    4 apples and coffee?!?!??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You call that lunch?! I call that a fainting waiting to happen!

Mon 21st - No spend lunch today for me. I had half a smoked sausage n Ainsley's cous cous, plus a yoghurt from home. only took 2 cans of juice in today with the intention of going out for more later but knew that would lead to spending more... So i have had one with lunch and have drunk (free)tea and water otherwise.
Need to drink more water as my skin is really broken out just now. Aiming for 2x 75ml bottes a day, plus whatever other fluids i have of course. Drink far far far too much fizzy juice, even though it's diet it's not good for you is it?

A colleague asked if i wanted anything from shop, asked for a choccie bar of some description and they refused to take any money, so a free Galaxy caramel for later!

  • Well, here I am, at the start of week three.

So far in this challenge I've spent under a fiver (and I've still got 6 cans of Diet Coke left - God Bless Farmfoods :D )

I like Hyno06 idea of transferring it as soon as it's saved. Inspired!

Before I go any further, can someone PLEASE put me out of my misery and tell me how on Earth I get to change my signature. I've forgotten:o

    Lunch:

    Monday 21/1 - £0 - Left-over-last-night (canelloni (sp_) crisps
    Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)

Yes!!! I was willing you to have the full monty! (That's what I would have done under the circumstances) - Not enough price difference to starve yourself with 'salady stuff' in the depths of winter when there's pudding on offer...

I, on the other hand, was an extremely good Lunch Log Challenger today

Can't say the peanut butter roll (can be made in under 10 seconds so makes a frequent lunch appearance), hula hoops and banana were the most nutritional option but I think I topped up any missing vitamins with the penguin and 2 lime (weird) jaffa cakes at tea break (back off, they were free from work)
