The ribbed fabric ones I find more comfy than the nylon velcro fastening ones.
oooohh...sent OH out to buy some right now! Desperately want to be able to eat again. Have lost half a stone in the last week which can't be good for baby....0 -
I've just read this thread- I am so glad you are feeling better CG.
I have no strong feelings about the subject matter (other than I think it is totally your choice and nobody should be making you feel guilty!)- and that is coming from someone who is about to start fertility treatment. It is totally individual in every case and no one has the right to judge you.

My midwife told me that all the nutrients go to the baby first, and you get the leftovers. Although you might have lost weight, I'm sure baby is doing just fine.
The sickness is horrid, but it does pass in time. Try not to worry, get as much rest as you can, and eat when you feel hungry. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Update at the moment is that I'm 75% sure we're going to keep the baby - did a lot of soul-searching and talking over the weekend, looking at finances etc and I think we both feel quite positive. In answer to some peoples questions, OH is, as far as I can tell, feeling very similar to me. I think he's more concerned about me, and the fact that he's aware that I'm younger than him so haven't had a chance to do all the things that he's done. He's been very very good over the last couple of weeks while I've been feeling ill, and I couldn't have asked for anything more. He drops everything for the latest thing that I think I might be able to manage....then looks after me when I throw it up 5 minutes later. He's been very supportive, and I think would stick by me either way, but woudl prefer to keep the baby....
Anyway everyone, thank you for all the messages, I will keep you updated, and any advice on mornning sickness will always be appreciated! Also...anybody who could tell me what tax credits, maternity pay, child benefit we'd be entitled to? Do those start from the day baby's born? I think with those extras we could just about manage to stay where we are, and we would really rather not move unless we absolutely have to....

Congratulations on your baby! I too am to become a father in fact our due date is in 24mins!!
I am 23 and have a good job (earn well over 30k) my girlfreind is in Uni (22) training as an occupational therapist. Finding out she was pregnant was a shock we werent really planning it but had discussed in the past that we wouldnt mind if that was the case. (we have been together 7 years). Despite how you prepare for it, it is a shock when you finally realise you are having a baby and makes you doubt if you have made the right decision but we know we have made the right choice and we are so excited the closer it gets. We were worried about the money and if we can afford it. We have no debt apart from 2 things, our house and I have my car loan and with the OH not in work much we thought we might struggle. From what you have said on your financial situation you should be ok!
With regards to maternity pay this will depend on your employer and what package they offer, I think its something like full pay for a while them drops down 90%...etc (though please check ur employer). I know that the minimum your partner would get is £112 per week for 2 weeks. This is the min and depends on his company mine only offers the basic
Information on Child Benefit here (http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/childbenefit/cb-key.htm#a) and here (http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Moneyandworkentitlements/YourMoney/DG_10016699)
You may be able to get £500 towards the cost of things for the baby on this site (http://www.surestart.gov.uk/)
Hope things go well!!
