Afternoon everyone - it's bl**dy cold and I got in before the timer had put the heating on - lovely boss gave me a lift
dd11 is at her sister's for a couple of days while I,m at w*rk - first day back todayActually it was really nice catching up with everyone. today's plans are to get on with the dreaded packing - I'm trying to fit a guitar into my case and still come in under 20kgs.
forked out for digital scales at Mr T - nt bad at £7.50 - my old one got plunged into hot soapy water on christmas day by an enthusiastic washing up helper and has been drying out ever since but alas has been declared deaded. also got a nice little vegetarian cookbook for £3 and some reduced veggies and organic sausages wich will be a nice meaty tea for me as veggie dd is away - yum (not as nice as Haribo's tea by the sounds of it but a treat for me nonetheless). I aso got a half price easyyo at the weekend - the powder stuff didn't really work but I have bought a starter, some milk and some milk powder to have another go tonight.
I resolve after my holiday to really knuckle down, write a proper spending diary and save some money this year - there you all heard me and can beat me with a wet microfibre if i don't. Actually a little while ago dd11 decided that we were going to devote our lives to climate change stuff so everytime I say something like "my new year's resolution is to label everything in the freezer" she says "but what about the planet?" and I say "oh yeah label everything in the freezer and save the planet!"
hugs to Taplady and too Nelski's poorly finger

Well Ive finally escaped work and am now at home... still being dragged by an indescribable force to the computer to talk to all my friends on MSE!!! Not that I'm complaining-must tear myself away again and finally check stock levels in freezer. I have managed to put a joint of lamb in the oven for evening meal (yes, I managed to switch the oven on too!!!) lolGE 36 *MFD may 2043

Evening all
Big Hugs to Taplady
Tattycat my DD got married on Nov 17th, they spent £300.
Odds, yes it's still the same nutty one.
We had some excitement last night, I was sitting at the pc when water started to pour through the ceiling, the lodger had overflowed the bath.
Today we had DGS for the day as DD had a hospital appointment, so we took him to the river to feed the ducks, geese, swans & seagulls & then to the park.
We had hotdogs for tea as thats what DGS wanted & it was on my monthly meals list, so I had everything in the freezer/cupboards.
Back to work tomorrow, the time has flown by.
Hugs Hester

Evening All,
Haven't posted for a while, life ok in Suesy Sue land, although DS8 isn't quite sure who this new mummy is (I have decided to be tough on him and he doesn't like it).
Don't go back to work until Monday and can't quite motivate myself to get anything done today although yesterday I did a meal plan for the whole month from what's in the freezer and cupboards. Will just need to get milk, bread and veg. Just as well really cause what with petrol prices what they are my wages goes on that (am planning on changing my gas guzzling car very very soon although I have only had it 3 months - it was a very foolish purchase but couldn't help myself!!)
Hugs to those in need esp Taplady - hope things turn out ok.
Hello to new posters, can't insert a wave cause I have lot my smilies!
Right off to eat even more chocolate I seem to have the worlds supply!

Evening All!
Big hugs to Taplady.
HardupHester How on earth do you put up with your lodger? You must have the patience of a saint!
I drove over to my parent's house today to check that everything was ok with the house, check post etc while they're in Oz. Then I did some shopping at Aldi (not much on the shelves) and in Asda.
A lovely shop assistant in Asda said to me 'I've just reduced the price of the gammon over there' and pointed to some enormous joints of gammon that were reduced from £12 to £1, so naturally I chucked a couple into my trolley and thanked her!I've put one into my already full freezer and the other one is simmering in a pan of pineapple juice on the stove. I reckon it will feed us for the next couple of days and there will still be some left over to freeze, if I can squeeze it in the freezer.:rotfl:
I also found a selection of 'fancy' double/thick cream reduced to 5p, so it was a good shopping day today! We're well stocked and I'm hoping to stay well under my budget of £200 for the month (2adults, 2kids).
I've taken some of the decs down but the tree will come down on Saturday as we're all still in a xmas holiday mood as we don't go back to school until next Monday (7th).
Have a good evening!0 -

Having been off work for (except for 1 day) for the last 10 days :j I have got used having the computer on all day on this forum and stopping whatever I'm doing to 'dip in', look for ideas etc
I managed 20 mins at work today with new boss looking at me the way new bosses do when you use the computer for personal use:rolleyes: ( I was eating my home made lunch at the time so didn't feel guilty).
Home now and I have got 5 pages to catch up on!!
and dinner to cook and tomorrows lunch for 3 to make!
Its going to be a late night, I will have bags under my eyes by time Sunday arrives!:rotfl:
Didn't realise how much I miss you all

Hi annie,
The Old Style board can be addictive can't it!I'm not back to work until Monday and I'm not looking forward to it. I've merged your thread with todays daily where everyone has been talking about getting back to normal.

Hi all - still not feeling up to scratch. Have had a quick read of the thread and wanted to send massive (((hugs))) to TAPLADY. Thinking of you - that must have been a real shock.
ODDSNSODS - good luck to you on Friday.
(((Hugs))) to anyone else in need.
Will try and catch up with you all soon - just can't shake this bug off completely; it keeps catching me unawares just when I think I'm starting to get better.
Have a great evening.

Hi All!
Finally got time for a look-in - back to work today, bah humbug!
Dinner was going to be pasta and sauce but got a yellow stickered stir fry mix when I popped into Somerfield for some milk so we had that for tea with some noodles from the cupboard. We're away for the weekend so I'm hoping to get through until Sunday without having to shop.
Hope you all had a good day - I'm afraid my purse is being sorely tempted by the new Kenwood Chef flexible beater attachment...0
