poppellerant said:Can somebody clarify some things for me?At the moment I have a fixed direct debit, which is deliberately set lower than my usage, so my credit balance slowly reduces. This is intentional on my part. If I transfer my credit with EDF to Fuse Energy by making a one-off payment so my account with them is in credit, will they also allow me to have a direct debit set lower than my usage so my credit slowly reduces? Is the direct variable or fixed? Can I choose to have a fixed direct debit if they put me on a variable direct debit? Can I choose my direct debit date? When I asked Fuse Energy about this, they said that the date can't be changed, however I will be invoiced on the second working day of each month, with payment debited from my account 3-5 days later. Their reply almost implies that my direct will be variable and it certainly implies that I can't choose the direct debit date - something I've never heard of before!3

I did a price comparison on Cheap Energy Club yesterday and one of the suggestions was "Fuse Energy August 2025 Fixed (15m) v1". I then went onto the Fuse website and that suggested the cheapest was "Aug Single Rate Fixed (13m) v2". I had another look on the Fuse website today and it's now "Aug Single Rate Fixed (13m) v4"!I guess the price is increases with each new version? It still works out cheaper than the fixed tariff I'm on at the moment with Octopus so I signed up. Fuse reckon it will only take a couple of days to transfer and there's nothing else I need to do so it seems pretty straightforward so far.I think there's a 14 day cooling off period with Fuse so I guess if the v5, v6, v7, etc. tariffs are slightly cheaper than the one I've signed up for then I can switch without penalty.

sallysaver said:I can confirm that Fuse use the variable DD method. I have no idea if you can transfer EDF credit to Fuse. The variable system suits me fine, rather any excess funds are in my bank account than theirs. Be interesting to know how much money belonging to clients these utility companies hold onto. Bet its substantial.
I prefer variable direct debit too - makes it easier to switch to another supplier because you don't have to worry about a huge debt or credit with the old supplier account.I contacted Outfox yesterday and they said they only do fixed direct debits so I decided to switch to Fuse instead.0 -

One confusing thing I've just found with the Fuse app. It allows you to add other properties but how do you delete them?0
