Just about to join Fuse myself.  I guess everyone left their gas with current provider. For me fuse price is brilliant for 18 months at 20p kw and 45p standing charge. Just a shame cant shift gas as closest for one deal is eon but can actually save more with fuse snd leaving gas with octopus.

Probably only when it’s Windy and / or Sunny, but you can’t tell where your electricity actually comes from can you.

I am rather frustrated with Fuse Energy.  Their "Fixed" tariff is only a fixed RATE, they debit each month for what you have actually used.  Maybe my own fault for not clarifying that before switching, but I had understood that "Fixed" meant both rate AND monthly debit.  Further, for the monthly readings, they want an actual photograph of the meter, not a manual, typed in reading, claiming the latter can lead to errors.  I find this frustrating, as while it is easy enough for me to read my meter, being in a dark corner, it is a faff to photograph it.  They seem to prefer users to use a mobile-phone app: while it is just possible to do it on a lap-top, a 6-digit code is sent by text each time you login – this also makes it a faff for someone who prefers to use a lap-top over a small, fiddly phone.  Their rates are very good, and their customer service is very fast, but on reflection, I regret choosing them.

Not really. You'll receive the same mix of renewable/fossil etc as everyone else. Put it this way, if you move to Fuse they don't shutdown a windmill or fire up a gas plant as a result.

I started this thread and did indeed sign up for Fuse. I had been fine with them - the app showed my KWh usage by the hour in a simple bar chart, the fixed rate tariff was ok, the customer service is good and quick to respond....

And then last week they 'updated' the app. 🤦🏻‍♀️

They literally dumbed it down and took away any way of reading KWhs or even a bar chart. Now it's just a line graph which you have to touch with your finger to get a very vague idea of £ & p.

To say I'm !!!!!! off is an understatement.

I have told them via an App Store review it is dire and that everyone needs to know the KWh prices to be in control of their energy bills. The UK is moving to half hourly pricing eventually so it is fundamental.

TBF they have come back to me (in the App Store review) and 'sort of' agreed but whether they fix it remains to be seen.

A useful, basic app is now.... utterly crap.

I've been with Fuse since 7th May. They bill on the 2nd of the Month and take payment on the 7th by variable direct debit. I prefer to pay in advance a few times a year and if you want that option they don't take card payments instead you make a direct transfer using open banking. So far so good.
The website is no thrills but quite usable for my purposes and the rates are excellent. They have changed the energy tracker (as mentioned above) and it seems cruder. Its not too bad on PC but on a phone must be a pain.

Glad I changed and I'd recommend.
