@molerat - when I checked their "maths" before Xmas I seemed to be making a profit as the calculated number of kwhs was greater than the number actually charged between mid August and December 31st. !

However since Jan's statement , whilst the subtraction/multiplication calculation is now broadly correct - they do seem to be showing a CV value to one dp but their actual calculated kwh figure only comes out correctly if I use a higher 3dp value . This means I'm also overpaying now by a few p each month eg worse case 16p in February equivalent to the CV in the calculation being 38.855 rather the value on the bill of 38.8

Overall adds up to 21p since January 1st.

You cannot take their bills at face value, do the maths and they simply do not add up. Have you also looked at the VAT ? That is usually way off the mark, it should be 4.762 % of the billed amount - don't know how they account for what is quoted on customer bills compared to what they pay HMRC.

Their latest platitude to my complaint, pretty much the same reply I have been getting all along except no bung this time 😥

I have escalated your concerns and been informed the team are still working on correcting this. Rest assured once the work has been completed we will be able to release a fix to prevent this happening in the future. Apologies for the protracted nature of this and thank you for flagging this.

I can't see what is so difficult. I am sure their software must have a simple "TRUNC(X,1)" command or equivalent as works for me in Excel, all the other suppliers seem to manage.

    Hi

I'm looking at renewing my energy and Fuse Energy is coming out as the cheapest option for me. I was tempted to sign up with them but after reading billing issues with them regarding rounding errors, I'm having second thoughts. I'm not seeing widespread complaints about it and they do seem to have quite lot of good reviews. It seems that electric bills are fine and its gas bills that are the concern as it involves using the CV in its calculation. Is the CV rounding issue not obvious to spot and therefore most people are not aware of it? Having had billing issues with Eon and Ebico (when they existed), it's not something I want to deal with.

As far as I can see (as a Fuse customer) is that the rounding errors are relatively small - a few p per month - but the "savings" I'm making, compared with other tariffs that were available about the time I moved to Fuse last August, are very substantial ~ in excess of £100 !

I’ve been with Fuse for 8 months for gas and found them excellent. I fully aware of the CV rounding issue which doesn’t bother me as it only involves a few pence. I’ve saved many pounds on their cheap tariffs.
Apart from the above I’ve not noticed any billing issues. They bill promptly each month and then very promptly take the DD payment from my bank.

Customer service is very prompt as well but only by Chat. Also you are charged Exit Fees even if you switch to one of their tariffs.

Do Fuse charge full or reduced exit fee for change of tariff, I have seen mention of reduced exit fee.????

good question !!! I asked their Chat yesterday if I could switch to their 15month v3 tariff and they said I would be charged exit fees but didn’t say it would be reduced.

If it's a few pence per month then I can swallow that as the cheaper unit rate and standing charge should make up for it. I appreciate that it's frustrating when you get overcharged even when its small amounts (been there with 3) but in the long term Fuse Energy will save me money and I'll see how it goes for the next 13months. For Fuse themselves lots of pennies adds up so I hope they'll sort this out. I've read that customer service is generally good so that's another reason I was considering them.

15month v3 tariff is a Tracker not a fix, likely to increase in July.
