    go to control panel and choose network and internet. click on connect to a network. choose the one u use and connect. make sure wireless is activated on the computer.

    'windows cannot configure this wireless connection' - not ticked as don't get the tab where I can choose wireless networks. title of the box is 'Wireless Network Connection' - minus properties. Got a 'local area connection' icon, double pc thing, but saying unplugged.

    which internet service provider r u using?
    did they send you a cd when u subscribed tot heir wireless broadband?
    if yes run the cd, it will give u instructions on how to set up the connection.

    virgin, a nice computer man (not virgin, or ntl) came and set it up for me, he's not working privately any more so am looking for another! until then....I struggle on;)

    Can I still do this without the cd?

    You may notice that there is an "X" next to your wireless connection. This is expected. It shows that your wireless card is properly installed, but you have not as yet connected to a wireless network. You need to right click on the wireless network icon, and select "View Available Wireless Networks"

    You should see a list of available wireless networks

    right click on my computer, then properties to show how much ram you have

    I've now got the icon showing connected and a good strength, but still can't get online. Buggar!
