That sounds lovely rach, really pleased for you.
I need some of your 'feeling like there's too much to do to be on the April getting things done thread', holiday booked, work to pay for flights sorted, bam 💅 Well done lady 🥂
And you are doing so excellently with your mse progress 😊2 -
I am being a little cautious in case some old habits have started showing up. Things have gone on the temporary credit card that were not the food and fuel that card is for. But I just have to pay it off as soon as the extra money comes in (first chunk will be Thursday).
I'm trying to use up the old food in the pantry as a compromise. I have so many jars of pasta, rice, beans etc that I always forget to use (or cba) so that seems like an excellent pay off for booking the flight before the extra wages comes in.
I had red lentil penne for lunch today. No idea how long that had been there! I had some dukha on my roasted cauliflower on Sunday. It's quite interesting actually, a nice little challenge. I used to be really good at using stuff up and being creative!Debts 04/01/25 01/07/25

Yay on the flights. That's going to be such a nice feeling. Relaxing in the sun on a getaway you fully cash rolled.

Tonight I cooked rice from the pantry, actual proper rice, not microwave rice. I am acing this whole using up the pantry goods malarkey!
I got my payslip emailed today, so first bit of extra cash is coming in on Thursday, I'll feel better once I've paid some of that off.Debts 04/01/25 01/07/25

Happy weekend!
£150 extra pay received from my second/old job, and £150 paid off the fuel/food credit card where I had temporarily paid for the £200 unexpected medical cost last week.
Should get another chunk this Thursday that can pay off most of the flight (or top up the home repairs pot that I took it from). I know I should have more pots for things and more savings but this is where I'm at right now and I do intend to get better organised once I've paid off a bit more of my debts and feel like I have some breathing room for saving/building an emergency fund. Although knowing that I took money from the 'wrong' place does make me more annoyed with myself and so feel more urgent about paying it back.
I'm still enjoying using up stuff from the pantry, and remembering some of the things I used to cook when I was on a DMP 20 years ago. I've also had some meals from the Olio app. I planted some veg seedlings out last week but they all got munched or dug up. I'm going to plant some more out today and cover them in netting.
What else? Oh! I passed my probation at work, so although I didn't really have many worries about that it's nice to know my job is proper permanent and I'm not going anywhere for the time being.
I feel like I've caught up on some sleep and some rest this week, although I did crash a little at the start of the week. I'm having a relatively relaxing weekend. I had food with friends yesterday, and I'm planning on pottering around the house and garden all weekend.Debts 04/01/25 01/07/25

Congratulations on passing probation, even if one isn't worried it's still a nice achievement and bit of extra security.
Weekend sounds lovely, what's better than friends and pottering
Great job with the extra pay and money shuffling. Do whatever works for you at the moment, as long as it's all going in the right direction it's all good2 -

Thanks both! It is going in the right direction, and I've reduced it by quite a bit this year already, it just feels like a tiny drop in the ocean some days.
Especially when I do my monthly check of my student loan balance.
I have spent the day pulling up nettles from my tortoise run. My hands are now killing me but it was very satisfactory. I like to pretend I am pulling up the heads of my enemies and I am pleased when I get a really long 'spine'. It was a job I had put off for about 2 years, I should probably put it in the Spring in our Step thread. Oh! I also dug a load out of mud out of a drain that has been blocked for years. Hopefully that saves me quite a bit of money if I don't have to call anyone out to unblock it.
I've got a bag of summer clothes down from the attic to try on and sort out. Maybe tomorrow though, I've had quite a carby weekend.
I am also trying to have a word with myself to start selling things. I've been thinking about it for months, but I keep putting it off. I'll probably be ok once I start. It would be lovely to clear that last bit of overdraft (200) before I go on holiday.

The good thing about checking your accounts so often is you notice fraudulent activity straight away!
The food delivery could possibly have been me, even though I didn't remember ordering a delivery in the last 2 weeks, but the hair growth serum definitely wasn't me! 🤣Debts 04/01/25 01/07/25

I've done similar this weekend only my run was infested with wild garlic.
Good spot on the fraud activity! I know what you mean though, easy to spot when you scrutinise every transaction and balanceNov/Dec 24 £39 564
