If anyone sees any 'win a brand new kitchen' competitions can they let me know? Mine is actually from the late 80s (my nan had the same one) and the left hand side is no more (cupboards disintegrated) and when I pulled the washing machine out today I saw the frame on the right hand side is rotting now too.
Alternatively, does anyone wanna buy a kidney? (Obviously joking, selling organs is very bad and illegal but this kitchen is not going to last until I've paid my debts off, neither is my car).
I guess I'll just pour a glass of prosecco in the meantime.

Have you looked into "Buy Nothing" to see if anyone is remodeling their kitchen and would like the old kitchen cabinets taken off their hands? You can even offer to pick cabinets someone doesn't want up to help them get them out of the way. FB Marketplace might have some too.2

Yeah, I have, but the floor and walls also need doing, and one of the doors removed (there are 4) so ideally that would be done first. And I don't have anyone that would help me get it here and fit it. Most big vans won't come up my hill, it's too steep and we have to park horizontal (perpendicular?) not parallel to the curb anyway.
And a leaky washing machine and sink would just mess up a nearly new kitchen so I should sort that first.
I basically need new everything except ceiling and cooker (I've replaced those).
If/when the last bit does disintegrate I'll see what I can get for free and do myself. I've got a butcher block unit on wheels type thing on the left hand side, I put that together myself. Did I mention the left hand side is underground and gets damp?😂
The joys of having an old house on a hill!
I do actually love my house, it's just that nothing is ever easy to get fixed, tradies often don't turn up once I give them my address, and I usually need to do 6 other things before I can do the 1 thing.
Today I need to fix up my tortoise enclosure and clear access to the shed for a builder/roofer that might be coming on Monday. I might sow some flower seeds in my container garden out the front too.It looks like perfect weather to be working outside!Debts 04/01/25 02/06/25

Kitchens new are so expensive! Mind you so is everything these days ....2

Yep, and it's such a big job because it needs a total renovation. It'll take me years to save up.
Last day before payday! I've made it! My meeting got cancelled so i don't have to drive anywhere today so that should mean no spends. I have about £40 left in my account so that can come off the overdraft.
I do appreciate that this bank let's you reduce it online and in multiples of £10. My other bank makes you phone them and it takes ages.
It's nearly time to start packing for holiday. Hopefully I have everything I need already (somewhere in this house) and don't need to buy anything.Debts 04/01/25 02/06/25

It's nice to have some money left over at the end of the month as all the extra payments help. It looks like both the overdrafts will soon be history.Enjoy your holiday.2

Another quick payment of the last few quid in my account and that overdraft is down to £100!!

Well done on the overdraft!
Our kitchen desperately needs doing, but there's some work to be done as well to knock out the old heating cupboard, and it will need to be completely redone floor to ceiling. It worries me how much it's likely to cost!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney2 -
They really are an expensive room to do!
I have, against my better judgement, reduced the overdraft to £50. I have a lot of extra outgoings this month, I really should have waited til the end of the month. Especially as I have no second job now to help get me through. Ah well, it's done now. I have £40 extra pay due on Thursday. It was meant to be used for my villa this weekend. I'm just so desperate to get the overdraft cleared and hit my 4th and 5th milestone. I know it's stupid but I feel like I can breathe a bit once I've hit those. And maybe feel like I deserve this weekend away.Debts 04/01/25 02/06/25
