Not much news for today. I went to work and I went to the dentist. Repairing my teeth that the previous dentist damaged is going to cost a little over £1,000. I don't know where I'm getting that money from. Probably the same place I'm get the thousand or two for the dogs teeth removal. Today I just had an old damaged silver filling taken out and replaced with a new white one.
Why does it seem that dentistry and gynaecology have not been brought into the 21st century? Both have a tendency to feel a bit.... Barbaric. There has to be better ways, surely???
I had a lazy afternoon and evening, had a nap, recovered, and got chippy chips because I felt sorry for myself and needed soft comfort food.
I did then do a couple of hours work to make up for the lazy afternoon.
I'll get back on with diy and decluttering tomorrow.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25

Haha, I agree with barbarism comment! If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I'm with DIA. I have a smear next week, what a treat on a day off

You have a lot going on at the moment, the decluttering sounds like a positive distraction, something you can control in the fog of everything else. Still being lazy, still napping, still not doing much that's productive, but I have been pretty much full on at work so that's where my energy is going at the moment.
I did have a little moment last night with a tin of green paint in my downstairs bathroom. It kind of looks like I put moss in a blender and forgot to put the lid on. I will need to clean it up/rectify it, do a second coat at some point in the next few days. I also tried to change the knobs on the bathroom cabinets but failed.
I'm still using up the kitchen stuff, tonight I have roast pork with cauliflower cheese (using up dry ends of cheese) and home grown potatoes. I'm very excited.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25

Green is calming, that probably says something about what you are trying to push yourself towards.
Cauliflower cheese is my ultimate comfort food (even if it is the cheat frozen stuff from Aldi)

Moss green sounds good. I need to plan some redecorating as lots of rooms need redoing, just finding the energy is tricky. You're doing so well x

The problem is though @LzzyIsGod I do a little bit in every room but never finish any of them!
I just checked the roller blind, it was £20, turns out I need a smaller one than I thought, so £15, but it's on offer today for 10.50 !!

Oh we like bargins!!!
I know the feeling about starting a room 😂 I like the start and the end - it's the middle bit and actual doing I need motivation for.

Today I have just survived work. That should be the last of the really busy days for a bit, but of course I'll need to catch up ob admin on the next few quieter days. I also have to interview people next week, for the first time ever.
Roller blind collected. Annoyingly it needs to be trimmed by about 1.5cm and it won't fit on to the existing fittings. I really dislike using the drill so there is a chance that job will be put off for a while.
I did a little shop today and a little top up of fuel, which should see me through til payday. I've almost emptied the freezer of food.
Oo! Some really good news! The ombudsman contacted me today and my bank have offered another £100 compensation for the credit card debacle. I've accepted. That was really worth being annoyed for the 15 or 20 minutes it took to fill the form out. I'll use it to pay off a bit of debt, despite having lots of things I need to pay for at the moment. It's money I didn't expect to have, so I think I'll pay it off my loan. The loan is with the same bank and the extra payment will reduce the interest so it feels like a double win.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25
